[Question #1337] I need solid advise and info please!

Hello Doctors,

I'm back, regretfuly because I engaged in a stupid act. last week, while out drinking with some friends, I ended visiting a spa massage. no sex took place BUT, the worker masturbated me using her feet. I know you usually advise zero risk if no penetration happend but, it was dark and i didnt inspect to see if she had warts on her feet, since plantar warts are common, is there a risk it could have taken a hold or being transfered in to my penis? is this a possible scenario? the mastubration wasnt vigorous and it was only maybe 5 minutes.

Thanks for the help.

Welcome to the Forum.  I'll be glad to comment.  There are more than 100 different types (strains) of HPV.  Different types infect different body sites.  The virus types that infect the feet to cause plantar warts are different from the types that cause genital infections.  This combined with the very low risk of HPV acquisition lead me to be confident that the exposure you describe did not put you at risk for acquisition of HPV.  No reason for worry.

I hope this comment is helpful to you.  Stay safe.  EWH

Thanks for your input doctor.

I hope you dont mind a follow up question, I was just thinking that hand warts are relatively common and people get handjobs all the time, if it was infectious it will be very well known? also, people with genital warts almost never get it transfered to their hands despite the fact that they have to handle it to urinate, masturbate among others?  and finally, when you suggest that this, conbined with the low risk of aquisition, do you mean low risk because of the type of activity that was performed or because it is unlikely i came in contact directly with a plantar wart?

Thank you.

I found this online, http://howtogetridofwartshome.com/can-warts-on-hand-spread-to-genital/

do you agree?

We do not get into discussing information seen on other internet sites on our Forum - this is an expert site, not a review of other sites.  There is too much misinformation and this is not a debate.

That said, I took a look at the link found at this site and it said essentially what I told you- no realistic risk.  EWH

Doctor.
The link is about people who have claim to have gotten genital warts from contact with their hand warts or plantar warts. they claim is possible. do you agree therefore that this is something can happen to me? i really would a appreciate an elaborate answer since those websites are not professional but you are. this is why im here.

Thousand thanks again.

Your follow up is repetitive.  The link mentions several people who think they got genital warts from hand or foot contact but then the link at that same site takes you to numerous authorative statements that this either does not or virtually never happens.  Your receipt of mastubation by a woman's feet was effectively no risk because:
1.  The types of HPV that cause plantar warts do not infect genital skin and
2.  Masturbation virtually never transmits HPV.

this is the third reply to you questions.  I hope my comments have been helpful.  This thread will be closed later today as per forum Guidelines.  EWH
