Hello ms warren we spoke last night about my encounter on the 1st-2nd, well today I've developed burning on my left bottom lip . I guess I'll be getting blisters within the next day or so . Ugh this sucks . I just want to cry . What does this sound like to you ? Does this sound like prodone ? Or does the initial infection consists of burning around the mouth , fever, and swollen glands ?

An initial infection with HSV 1 normally presents with blisters, not just burning. If you get blisters, please have them swab tested. I would be very surprised if you contact was on the 1-2nd, that you would be having a new outbreak now. The average time from infection to blisters is 2-10 days - you are way out from that.

Yesterday and today my left bottom lip has been burning like crazy . I read that that's the warning sign that you'll be getting a cold sore . I'm almost certain I'm infected my lip will probably break out tonight or over the weekend . Being almost certain I'm infected I went to urgent care this morning and told my doctor how I'm feeling and she prescribed me valtrex . I truly think I'm infected ms warren .

well, you've certainly confused the issue now by taking medicine for herpes. If you had had an outbreak, you could have had it swab tested and would know your answer. Your call but I don't think that was a good move.

What do
You mean by I confused the matter ? I honestly feel like I have it so to avoid an outbreak I told the doc to perscibe me valtrex . My bottom lip has been burning and kind of sensitive when I touch it all day . I feel like I'm infected ? Does that sound like the initial infection . Or is the initial infection more severe with a headache fever and swollen glands ? Im just terrified that I'll wake up tomorrow morning with blisters on my lip . Im almost scared to go to sleep .

I'm just saying that if you didn't take the medicine and got an outbreak that could be swab tested and you would know more for sure. Now you are still unclear. But if you are that worried, maybe its worth taking the medicine. You are just prolonging knowing if you are infected or not. At this point, regardless of your lip sensations, you are just guessing and taking the medication will also delay antibody development so if you want to test, the timing of that will be delayed.
