[Question #4159] Dr Hook please last thing on question # 4152

Dr hook first off thank you for all of the help you have given me.  This extra 25 dollars is nothing compared to the relief you have given me and have allowed me to be able to finally breathe a sigh of relief.  I’ve waited a long time to come to you and I’m glad I finally did.   There is just one more thing I didn’t understand in your last message to question #4152

You wrote “ When you asked " I was asking just to get clarification about if someone was to have a positive Oraquick oral swab HIV home test..  The CDC says if the 4th generation is negative after a positive result from any rapid test , then no further testing is needed and the rapid test would be false positive." I said this was LIKELY to be correct.  and that is the answer.  In your case, I am confident that his is the case but when you ask a general question, you will get a general answer. “

I am going to break it down so maybe I can understand better.

All I’m confused about is when you said “ in my case , you are confident that is the case “. Please explain

1) My Oraquicks were negative in 20-40 minutes and just happened to overdevelop the next days which is meaningless and they are still considered Negative tests ?

2) You were not saying MY Oraquicks were a “ false positive “  correct?

3) There is no further testing needed in my situation correct ?

4) Is it finally time to forget my overdeveloped Oraquick oral swab home hiv tests, believe they are still considered negative tests, and along with my multiple negative  4th generation lab blood tests , I can finally move on knowing I am Negative ?

Please don’t be frustrated with me.  I’ve come along way to seek your help. I promise I was just confused with that part of your last message in #4152.   Thank you Doc.  God Bless

I'm sorry my reply was not clear to you.  I must say however, I think your anxiety is getting the best to you.  You have NOT had a positive OraQuick test, thus your questions are hypothetical, "what if" questions.

1.  Your OraQuick tests were negative during the period described in the package instructions.  Overdevelopment is well described and does NOT suggest infection.

2.  Your OraQuick tests were NOT falsely positive.

3.  You do NOT need further testing.

4.  YES, it is time to forget your overdeveloped tests and it is time to believe your multiple negative 4th generation HIV tests.  YOU DO NOT HAVE HIV.

Thank you so much.  You have just made it finally click.   I was so confused for so long .... I literally couldn’t thank you enough.   So last thing before I go just to make sure I understand.   The Oraquicks were never a false positive because they were negative tests in the time frame that you are supposed to read the result, which means they were never at anytime a positive of any kind because after 40 minutes whatever shows up is meaningless ?   Please just let me know if that is correct .... Thank you again Dr Hook    Your a lifesaver    I have no further questions after this

Doc for my last follow up question please explain.  I’m sorry.  The anxiety hit me.  I understand all the answers to the questions but please elaborate on what you meant when you said

“ The CDC says if the 4th generation is negative after a positive result from any rapid test , then no further testing is needed and the rapid test would be false positive." I said this was LIKELY to be correct.  and that is the answer.  In your case, I am confident that his is the case but when you ask a general question, you will get a general answer. “

You told me that I didn’t have any false positive test, so can you please inform me what you meant when you said “ In your case, I am confident that his is the case “.  I was just rereading and got confused..... Were you maybe saying that in my case, no further testing is needed ?   Just trying to figure that out since you said i had no false positive test cause all my Oraquicks were negative in read time.   Please understand and clear that up for me if you don’t mind.  Just want to know what “ in my case , you are confident in “.  I’m thinking you meant “ In my case, no further testing is needed”.   Please just explain.   I promise that’s all that is keeping me confused.   Thank you for being patient with me.

Also forgot to add when you wrote “ In your case, I am confident that his is the case “.       His is the case ?   I assume that is supposed to be “ This is the case “. ?   I figured it is a typo.   I know I sound crazy I just have proofread everything to make sure I got everything asked.  So to finish this up.

1)  please explain what you meant when you said  “I said this was LIKELY to be correct.  and that is the answer.  In your case, I am confident that his is the case “.         I really think you were meaning that in my case no further testing is needed ??   Please just let me know.

2) His is the case ?   I assume that is a typo ?  That is supposed to be “ I am confident that THIS is the case ?

So sorry for my anxiety.  There is nothing else.  I have proofread everything.  Please just if you will answer them 2 questions and I’m out of here.   Thanks again Doc.  You have helped tremendously

Final answers, after which this thread will be closed.  In addition, should you return to our Forum with additional anxiety-driven, repetitive questions, your question may be deleted without a reply and without return of you fee.

You are being silly and need to stop playing word games.  You do not have HIV. this reply is based on your test results.   There is no need for additional testing.  No need for concern. End of statement.

The statement "..his is the case" was a typo.  that should have been obvious.

End of thread.  EWH
