[Question #6208] HIV/STD Risk From An exposure

Dear Doctor, greetings

I would like to consult you on two exposures I had, the first one is five days ago and the second one is four days ago. Both were with two prostitutes in Morocco aged 23. I have used condom during both exposure and confident that they were not tore during sex as I have checked them during and after sex. Both lasted for about 5 to 10m. Other activities involved kissing (mainly not deep kissing) and nipple sucking briefly. As am now becoming anxious and stressed, I would like to know my risks for HIV and any STD and should I get tested from these exposures. As of now I  feel no symptoms. Thanks in advance!

Adding that I have tested recently for HIV since my last exposure and it was negative.

Welcome to our Forum and thanks for your confidence in our service.  I am confident that the two exposures you describe did not put you at risk for any STI, including HIV.  Most commercial sex workers in Morocco do not have STIs, including HIV, even most unprotected exposures do not lead to infection and the use of a condom throughout your exposure reduces what was likely a low risk exposure to virtually no risk.  Further, there is no risk for HIV from kissing or sucking on a partner's nipples.  I see no reason for concern and no need for further testing for HIV.

I hope that this information is helpful to you.  EWH
