[Question #6291] HIV concern for my wife and son - please answer

Hello Dr.,
Last night at 7pm (within 24 hours ago) I was driving and went around a car in front of me who was looking for parking.  The person got out of the car when I stopped in front of my apartment building and knocked on my car window and was yelling, I did not roll down my window or open my door.  However, my wife who was sitting in the back next to my son who was in his car seat, got out to go into our apartment building while holding my son exchanged words with the man, she told him that she had his license plate and was going to call the police to which he responded something to the effect of go ahead. He then got into his car and drove away.  Is it possible for myself, my wife or my son to get hiv in this scenario?  I’m not sure if the man had blood on his hand after knocking on my car window or was spitting blood or saliva while he was yelling towards my wife and son.... my son is two years old.  It has been within 24 hours do we (my son, my wife, myself) need to go to urgent care to get pep?  Thank you dr.

This is your 5th post in 3 months regarding no risk events.  As has been explained to you before only unprotected sexual activity or injection of infected material deep into tissue will put you or others at risk for HIV.  The answer has not change.  This was a no risk event.  Forget about this event, forget about the possibility of PEP and move forward.  As recommended before, please get your OCD treated.

This ends this thread.  Please do not return with additional n risk events.  EWH
