Hi Doctors, one final question in following up to previous post, are there and medical conditions that could affect my 3rd generation insti tests after 3 months, 7 months and also 3 insti tests at 13 months after an exposure? These are antibody only tests

I will come back to the forum. On this occasion your new questions were assigned to me and I will be replying. And preparing to reply however I reviewed your recent interaction with Dr. Handsfield and agree with all that he said. I agree that there are no medications that would interfere with the results of your HIV antibody test. Theoretically chronic immunodeficiency Medical conditions might delay or interfere with production of antibodies to HIV. If there is a specific medical condition that you were concerned about I would be happy to address it however the conditions which might even theoretically impact antibody production are very few. I suspect you have nothing to worry about and that once again this is a manifestation of your current continuing anxiety over HIV. EWH---

Hi doctor thank you for the reply and you are probably correct re the anxiety..my concern would be if i were suffering from lupus..could that delay the production of antibodies?

Actually rather than an immunodeficiency process, lupus results from a hyperactive immune system. If you had lupus it would not impact you ability to produce antibodies to HIV at all. Believe your results. EWH ---
