[Question #783] Herpes 2 - further follow up

Hello -
Following up with last posts (all build off each other).
We've had two more protected intercourse encounters. Last time was last Tuesday. Two days ago I noticed some redness and pain near the left side of the vaginal opening. Yesterday I went to the gyn and she said she was uncertain and wanted to swab it. She told me herpes in the vaginal Mucosa doesn't have the same appearance as herpes on skin so It's harder to tell by sight. She said she saw a small red spot that she wouldn't have noticed had I not pointed it out. It was painful when she poked at it, which concerned her. Today it still seems red in the area and sensitive to touch. When looked at with a magnified mirror, the red spot in question does look like 4 or so raised spots in a circle.
I know the viral culture might be false negative - would you happen to know where/how I can find a Manhattan doctor who can do a PCR? My partner and i are over for other reasons, so I will eventually do a blood test.
Thank you for your help

In most cases, the same kit is used to gather a culture AND a PCR - your clinician just need to ask for PCR with typing instead of culture with typing - do you think you could all and check on that to see if she could do that?

I went to my PCP today that I trust more as I've been to the practice in past years. She said it appears like an abrasion, not a typical
Presentation of a primary herpes outbreak or herpes but she also swabbed it since she can't be certain. I called her and she said she added request for PCR for type 1/2 to the lab work. I now have 2 cultures and the PCR coming. I'm really worried about the irritation. How long does it take for PCR swab results? Thank you.

The PCR should come out quickly - just a couple of days. The culture can take longer. Now be certain that if it is positive that it is also typed, Ok?

I already have confirmed positive blood test for hsv 1 ...I thought it's unlikely to be re-contracted ? Maybe this sore is my own manifestation of hsv1? Would a positive hsv 1 oral diagnosis confuse a genital hsv 2 PCR test (would a genital PCR swab test somehow detect oral hsv )?
