[Question #10007] Herpes from Oral sex

So about two hours ago I had recieved Oral sex from a trans/man. We were in the dark with no lights on so I could barely see. When I got there, there were a few condoms on. The floor and a crack pipe on the bed. This person seemed very dirty. Well long story short, 5-8 minutes into receiving oral I decided to put the light on my phone , and see. And to my horrible shock I saw what appeared to be (I am 80% sure of it herpes on the lips) they insisted it was peeling from the sun, they also had their back peeling. But I am almost certain It was herpes . And they kept insisting on turning the light off. I also once did 2,3 herpes IGG test about 6, 7 years ago And they both came out negative. Basically my questions are
1)if it was indeed herpes, what are the chances I received it ?
2) I was able to wash 10 minutes after would that change anything, assuming not but worth a shot
3) my only possible saving grace and as stated didnt get the best look, but I got a decent look, it appeared to be a few inches from the lips, and not the actual lips, would that change anything? If my penis did not touch the sores would I be safe? Or is the saliva enough to infect me?

Hello any feedback? First off thanks for everything you guys do it means alot. But any answer on this, last time I purchased there were many issues with my answers or them not going through. And now I have seen about 30 questions answered , and even some asked after mines. Don’t mean to sound rude not sure if mines is the one that got missed again thanks

No one missed your post.

If someone truly had an active cold sore and gave you oral sex, there is certainly a risk that you could acquire this genitally.

2) I was able to wash 10 minutes after would that change anything, assuming not but worth a shot
It might help - hard to say, but it didn't make it worse, that's for sure.

3) my only possible saving grace and as stated didnt get the best look, but I got a decent look, it appeared to be a few inches from the lips, and not the actual lips, would that change anything? If my penis did not touch the sores would I be safe? Or is the saliva enough to infect me? l
But if this person had a cold sore, there could be active virus in their mouth and/or in saliva.

The only thing to do at this point would be to observe your penis carefully.  If you develop blistering or sores, you should go right away to urgent care of your health care provider for an evaluation and/or swab test to determine if this is HSV or not.

Thanks for the response! And my apologies Terri it’s that last time, there was some issues with the responses posting which was super weird lol
A few more followup questions
1) my stomach has been really upset and bad today, could this possibly be the flu like symptoms from possibly being infected? I heard you get flu like symptoms sometimes so am freaking out.
2) as stated above I did the IGg tests about 5-7 years ago. One year after my final igg test I one day made out with a girl and whithing a few days got something resembling a little bit or oral herpes, I never got it checked up, and have never seen it again. So with the chance that was hsv1 on my lip. Would that make it more difficult to get it on my genitals, or does that not even matter?
3) similiar to question above is it possible to get hsv1 both on lips and genitals? So if I already had it on lips to now get in on my gentials, if that person did indeed
have it
4) is it possible to get both hsv1 and hsv2 on your genitals?
5) if I already had hsv2  on  genitals and never acquired hsv1 would I be able to get hsv1 after on genitals?
6) what is usually the time frame for symptoms?
7)If I acquired herpes from this encounter is it also possible that Hiv passed on to me as well?
8) i’ve read many different things online so barring I never had any herpes, is it more difficult for me to aquire hsv1 on my genitals considering it usually doesn’t like to live there, or are my chances about the same. While I know it’s possible to acquire it there, I heard chances are alot better to not get hsv1 there even with no prior exposure. Is there any truth to that?

Not stomach flu, and no, I don't think that's herpes

Yes, if you have oral herpes, it is very unlikely you would acquire this genitally

3) similiar to question above is it possible to get hsv1 both on lips and genitals? So if I already had it on lips to now get in on my gentials, if that person did indeed

See above

4) is it possible to get both hsv1 and hsv2 on your genitals?
Yes, it is possible

5) if I already had hsv2  on  genitals and never acquired hsv1 would I be able to get hsv1 after on genitals?
No, actually HSV 2 appears to have virtually complete protection against getting HSV 1 subsequently

6) what is usually the time frame for symptoms?
2-10 days, with the average being 5.5 days.

7)If I acquired herpes from this encounter is it also possible that Hiv passed on to me as well?
I think that is extremely unlikely through oral sex

8) i’ve read many different things online so barring I never had any herpes, is it more difficult for me to aquire hsv1 on my genitals considering it usually doesn’t like to live there, or are my chances about the same. HSV 1 is quite happy to live in the genital as a first infection but it is unlikely to recur there.  That might be what you are referring to here.
