[Question #10044] HIV Risk with a cut / Mutual Masturbation at Erotic Massage

Dear Dr.Hook
I'm gay in Thailand and very worried about acquiring HIV.
I go to an Erotic Massage service in Bangkok, There is no penetration. the only risk events that I worry about are here
1) this is my most worrying > a Small Cut:
after he finished mutual masturbation with me (he does not ejaculate only I do so) then he does a massage on my leg which I have a cut/wound size of about 1.5 x 1.5 cm. the cut is not bleeding it's like an old cut that I usually pick it So it looks like a keloid and some parts of them may have been scratched, It has a little bit of liquid out of the cut but does not see any red blood.
the question is, his hand may have some of his Pre-Cum on it and when he does a massage on my cut, would it pose a risk for HIV (suppose he has a positive status)
3) Mutual Masturbation:
He uses his hand on my penis and himself to ejaculate. which I think it's no risk. But suppose his Pre-Cum or Cum is touching the tip of my penis and may go into my urethra, would It be a risk for HIV?
that's all of my concern, I very worrying about Question 1 (the cut). I worry that his secretion which may be on his hand will go into the cut and pose a risk for HIV. please help me clarify it. I'm an extremely worried person. thank you

Welcome to the forum. Thanks for your question.
You were not at risk for HIV from any of the exposures described.
1) HIV has never been known to be transmitted by exposure of a healing cut. In theory it could happen, but there is truly little if any risk, even if your massage provider has HIV and used his genital fluids for lubrication (which itself is probably unlikely).
2) HIV also has never been proved to be transmitted by oral sex, i.e. from mouth to penis. Based on how some people THINK they were infected, CDC calculates a risk of one chance in 20,000, and that's only if the oral partner has known HIV infection. That's equivalent to receiving BJs by infected partners once daily for 55 years before infection might be likely.
3) HIV also has never been known to be transmitted by hand-genital contact.
There's really no need for HIV testing. Putting it in personal terms, if somehow I were in your situation, I would not be tested and would continue unprotected sex with my wife without worry. However, you are free to be tested in a few weeks if the negative test result will be helpful in lowering your anxiety.
I hope these comments are helpful. Let me know if anything isn't clear.

"In theory it could happen, but there is truly little if any risk"
I just don't understand "but there is truly little if any risk", Does it mean there's some little risk rights? or No risk at all
as I mentioned earlier, there's no red blood on my cut only a little liquid out from the cut (like skin abrasion).
and Is there any reported case like this before?
thank you, So I don't need to test from this event at all ?
and can I have sex with my partner as usual (which don't put my partner at risk) ?
thank you a lot Dr.Hunter.

I don't know how I can say it more clearly. Can I say such transmission is impossible? No. Has it ever been known to have happened? Also no, and you can be sure you won't be the world's first such case. I also cannot guarantee you won't be struck by a meteorite, but I would advice you not to worry about it or take precautions against it.
I have nothing more or different to say about testing or sex with your partner. What is unclear about my statement on it above?

OK I understand your point, thanks for the reply
I will summarize that
Exposure of Secretion on Healing cut / Receive of Oral Sex / Hand to Genital contact >>> All of these behaviors are almost impossible to transfer HIVs like the probability of hitting by a meteorite which can happen but I think no one was hit by a meteorite before.
and this would be my last question, several days ago. I go to Erotic massage with the same behaviors again (Receive Oral / Mutual Masturbation / Hand to Genital Contact) but the guy who services me, I just noticed that he has had a Phimosis on his penis. I do not know whether he had it since his birth or it's an effect of some infection.
Does Phimosis change the risk of hiv with the behaviors that I stated above? [
Is it still the same probability as the hit by a meteorite?
Thanks and best regards
this is my last question and I hop I will not worry about it again.

Your summary statement indicates you correctly understand my evaluation and advice.
That concludes this thread. I'm glad the discussion has been helpful. Best wishes and stay safe.
