Condoms reduce transmission in the situation you describe by 96% and antivirals by 48%. Great odds!

Aside from transmission to a child via child birth, what risks do women have if they become infected,
I.e. increases risk of cervical cancer?

No, there is no increased risk of cervical cancer, that is HPV, the genital wart virus. A very very few people develop encephalitis but that can be from HSV 1, the common cold sore virus or HSV 2, but that is very very rare.

Thank you and your team for this and last question, if the male has hsv2, can they transmit the virus via French kissing if their partner has any gum issues and he does not? In other words, if he has no sores or wounds, but the partner does, can he transmit hsv2 via saliva during kissing?

So at least 95% of the time, we know that HSV 2 is genital. Oral HSV 2 is rare indeed. In your situation, I would believe that the infection is genital and not worry about kissing.
