[Question #10132] Anal itching
|
I gave oral sex to an escort about 4 months ago and I went as far as licking her anus. Afterwards my anus was itching and then the itching went away. Could I have an std, HPV and/or anal wharts? I’m married an concerned. The itching is almost gone now.

Welcome to the Forum. Thanks for your questions. Licking your partner's anus and performing oral sex on her is not a risk factor for anal symptoms . The symptoms you describe are non-specific and are certainly unrelated to the activities you describe. On the other hand, when persons begin to look for possible symptoms, there is a tendency to detect otherwise normal sensations which would normally go unnoticed. This is certainly not an STI.
FYI, HPV and warts are typically asymptomatic.
I hope that this information is helpful. EWH

Thank you for your reply. I still experience anal itching especially in the morning and at night, I thought it went away but it’s back but not as intense as after my encounter. When I researched what anal itching is a symptom for, it was for gonorrohea, herpes and anal wharts. So how can I make sure I don’t have the latter? As mentioned in concerned as im married and afraid to pass on anything to my wife.

If herpes was present, lesions would be visible when examined by an experienced clinician- so would warts although HPV is typically asymptomatic. Gonorrhea can easily be tested for using a swab test.
Symptoms of the type you describe however are most typically due to hemorrhoids or local yeast infection, neither of which is an STI. Symptoms such as these also become more prominent when persons are looking for symptoms- in these situations, person tend to notice otherwise normal sensations which would normally be not noticed.
I remain confident this is not an STI but you should be examined by an experienced clinician for the peace of mind it will provide. EWH

You could seek the advice of a sexual health clinician at an STD Clinic or, if specifically worried about your anal symptoms, an Internal Medicine doctor or a gastroenterologist.
We provide up to three response to each client's questions. This is my 3rd response. Therefore this thread will be closed shortly without further responses. I hope that the information I have provided has been helpful. Please don't worry. EWH
