[Question #10163] HSV 2 Results
|
I was diagnosed with HSV 2 after my partner had his first OB. My previous ex a few years prior was HSV 2 positive, didn't take medication and we didn't use condoms. When my more recent partner had an outbreak, we assumed I must have passed it. I had multiple swabs done but none were ever positive. Unfortunately, I have pretty intense skin allergies in general so it is difficult to differentiate between general skin irritation and herpes. I went and got the blood draw and received positive results.

From these results, you appear to be positive for HSV 2, correct. And the fact that a previous partner had HSV 2 and you didn't use condoms and he didn't take antivirals and now your current partner has had his first outbreak, suggests even more that this is an accurate test result. If you would like an easy read about herpes, the Herpes Handbook, for free, is at westoverheights.com. Please feel free to post more questions here as well.
