[Question #10171] Test for HSV 2 Shedding At Home

Hello, I have a potential partner that has HSV 2 and I was reading through Westover Heights forum a few weeks ago and recall seeing that you can test at home to see if you are actively shedding but it is more expensive. How do you go about doing doing this and what is the approximate cost? Thank you!

We have used a website called 24/7labkit where you can obtain the herpes PCR kit. I believe each one is aobut $75. Then the person with HSV 2 would complete daily home swabbing looking for viral shedding. There is a whole protocl for doing that and I have it should your partner wish to pursue this route.
