Hello Experts,
I had unprotected oral sex with a woman and I am wondering if purpura at both legs can be the only ARS symptom? I am really confused about the rash or ARS symptoms can you please describe them to me?Thank you

Welcome back but I'm sorry you found it necessary, especially since you apparently have not followed the advice already given. We do not expect much of our forum participants, but we do expect them to acknowledge and follow our advice; or to explain why they have not done so. I explained why your rash is not due to HIV, and purpura is no different: not HIV. More important, I told you how to sort this out: have an HIV test. I will leave this thread open for 7 days, giving you time to be tested and to report the result. I will have no further comments until then; if you do not report your test result within a week, the thread will be closed and you will be prohibited from any further questions about your rash and HIV fears.

Hello again Doctor, i managed to take and hiv test and thank God its negative. I am really sorry that i did not follow your previous advice. Can i ask one more question please? Purpura/petechiae can be a sign of another STD or Purpura is not a sign of an STD? Maybe i have to make some other diseases tests?Thank you Doctor.

I'm so glad to hear you were tested for HIV! The negative result should be very reassuring.

No STD is a known cause of petechiae or purpura. If you believe you have either or both of these, see a physician. In the absence of fever or other obvious evidence of a severe systemic infection, various blood disorders are the most common causes of concern.

Your English seems fine; I have understood everything.

I'm certainly no expert in petechiae and purpura, but I am very skeptical of the causes you state. My guess is that your doctor tested or otherwise evaluated you for the known causes and, finding none, speculated about other possibilities. I doubt firm data are available on such causes.
That concludes this thread. Please note the forum policy against repeated questions on the same topic. This being your second about your concerns over petechiae, purpura, and their association with HIV or other STIs, it should be your last. Thank you for your understanding. I hope the two discussion have been helpful. Best wishes and stay safe.
