[Question #10212] Retested

Hi Drs.
I wanted to let you know, that I retested and it results were negative.
Does this mean I can stop worrying? That I did not pass a theoretical pharyngeal std to my partner and in turn he did not pass it back to me genitally? Or is there a chance in the 6 times we have had sex that I have not caught it? And I should test again in another month?
You may close this thread after your reply as I understand repeated questions are frowned upon.

Your tested are conclusive. As you know, we saw no reason for re-testing to begin with. I hope that you will accept these test results and move forward without concern. EWH---

Thank you for the reply.
Since my tests are conclusive. And I believe them, does this mean that there is a virtually zero chance my partner has anything that he has no t transmitted yet?

Your concerns continue to perplex me. You indicated that you had both tested negative early in your relationship and tested negative. This is proof that neither of you had a STI yet you continue to be concerned and to test. I fail to see any medical or scientific logic to your continuing concerns. Yes the data are virtually conclusive that neither of you has an STI or transmitted anything between you. EWH ---

I am sorry to perplex you, my concern was that I was never tested for pharyngeal stds prior to engaging in unprotected sex… so my concern was that I could have passed oral chlamydia to him after we tested negative genitally.

Thanks for the clarification. I would not be worried in the least. Please don’t worry.
As you know, this will complete this thread. EWH

Thank you! Your confidence in me not passing an oral infection to my partner has greatly reduced my anxiety. As long as you are confident I will be too!
