[Question #10318] Confirmation

My new partner and I have agreed to take our relationship to the next level, so we are getting tested this week. I am not concerned for my results as I have not had genital sex in years and based off of my previous thread there is no way I have a current oral infection.
ASSUMING my new partner has not had any recent partners ( I know he has had previous partners in the past) , can I safely asssume his results will be negative ( at least from me) and that I did not pass on a previous oral infection such as chlamydia or gonorrhea to him? He has not had any symptoms and we have now been together 4 months with regular oral sex. My last friend with benefit encounter was 2 weeks before this relationship started and I took the azithromycin 1 week after the encounter, but again i did vomit, but took 500 mg more the next day.
Just making sure there is no way i passed anything, I pride my self in being safe and clean.

Welcome back to the Forum. As you know, Dr. Handsfield and I share the Forum and on this occasion I happened to pick up your new question. To prepare to respond, I reviewed your recent interactions with Dr. Handsfield and agree with all that he said. I also congratulate you on your mutual caution as your relationship evolves- it will serve you well.
You can be confident that you have not transmitted anything to your new partner and can anticipate that your tests will confirm this. Not only is the situation low risk but the azithromycin you took a week after your last encounter adds an additional assurance that your tests will be negative.
I hope these comments are helpful. EWH

Oops, sorry… can I anticipate his results will be negative as well since no symptoms and oral chlamydia is virtually impossible mouth to penis?

Thanks! I know you and Dr. Hansfield work closely. Do you also agree that chlamydia rarely if ever infects the throat and thus making transmission impossible? My only real concern is chlamydia since it is so often asymptomatic and I vomited after taking the first dose but supplemented with 500 the next day?
Thank you again and I will expected negative results for the both of us

Dr. Handsfield and I are able to work together because we have done so for more than 40 years and while our verbal styles vary, we never differ on the facts of our responses. Chlamydia infections of the throat are very rare and are virtually never transmitted through oral sex. As I said earlier, I am confident that your tests will be negative.
As you know, we provide up to three responses to each client’s questions. As this is my 3 rd response, this thread is now complete and will be closed shortly. Please don’t worry. EWH
