[Question #10329] Hiv conclusion

Hi I have previously asked about my exposure and what’s deemed conclusive.
Due to a nuru massage with handjob and Anal fingering off a female massager. Our private parts would have touched during the massage but no penetration.
I have received both negative on a gen4 lab test at +50 and +70 days. My questions are as follows,

1. The pathology that done the tests say “re-test at 12 weeks to be deemed conclusive” but there are so many mixed articles online on what’s “conclusive” it’s hard to find what to believe?

2. What are the likelyhoods of 2 negative tests turning positive at 90 days. Is there a period of time where the antigen is low and the antibodies are low where the test will detect a negative?

Both these questions were answered in your other thread.

1. We stand by our advice on this forum.

2. Zero likelihood.

Go back and re-read your previous questions and my replies, then let me know what you don't understand. But you can be sure I haven't changed my mind.

Mainly just the fear of seeing late “positive” tests post the 45 day conclusive period.
Is there a possible window period that antigen is low and antibody’s also low to cause it to be a negative.
Or a case of late seroconversion I.e past my last test period.
Sorry there is so much wide spread information online and as you may know it really plays with peoples heads seeing different answers by different people and health organisations.

"Is there a possible window period...?" No, that doesn't happen.

"Or a case of late seroconversion I.e past my last test period?" Same answer.

You won't find such varied advice if you limit searching to professionally run or moderated sites, and stay away from websites for an by people at risk (like Reddit). Anyway, you're overly focused on the tests, not the exposure. You had an exposure that could not possibly result in HIV transmission, even if your masseuse had the virus (which probably she did not). You didn't need testing to begin with, and therefore your obsession with the test results is irrelevant.

Okay I need to trust the professional answers it’s just been a wild couple months of reading different things for me and building a scenario I’ve made up in my head. Many apologies and I’m sorry for doubting and repeating myself.
One final thing do you have any Australian recommended guidelines I can read so I don’t steer off into reddit in the future.

Australia's federally funded sexual heath centres comprise the world's very best network of STI/HIV clinics. If you happen to be in Sydney or Melbourne, their SHCs are best of the best, as are the academic faculty at the universities with which they are affiliated. You could look up their websites and perhaps find the information you seek. Australia has national level STI and HIV treatment guidelines, but I'm not sure if there is similar guidance about test interpretation, time to conclusive results, etc.

Thanks again for your confidence in the forum -- but please no more repeat questions on these issues. You can be sure that nothing you might think of has any chance of changing our evaluation or advice.
