[Question #10401] What’s Wrong with me

26 yr. old male here who gets tested after each partner (female only). Initial symptoms started in February with sore testes. Freaked out I rushed to Urgent to get blood and urine tested. All results came back negative. After a week, symptom disappeared confirming in my mind that it was most likely me just overthinking.
A month later, I hooked up with a different women, sore testes yet again, but this time was different. Felt fatigued, and after a week or so began feeling what felt like nerve shocks specifically in my legs, and had wild headaches that I don’t ever get. Again I went to urgent for both blood work and urine, only to have a negative result yet again.
For the past 4 months I’ve been experiencing discharge everyday both cloudy or white in color. Some days more so than others. My testes are constantly sore, some days worse than others, and recently my back is extremely sore specifically in the kidney area.
Been visiting my primary for the past 2 months who only has taken urine tests. Small traces of blood was discovered in which they prescribed doxycycline hyclate in addition to a needle in the bum with zero relief.
It’s been 7 months of worry with no answers and am only imagining the worse. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. Thanks for your question.

I'm confused and uncertain how to respond to your mention of (urethral?) "discharge". Of the several symptoms you describe, that's the only one that suggests an STI, in particular gonorrhea, chlamydia, or nongonococcal urethritis (NGU). On the other hand, you say your doctor hasn't found anything other than a trace of blood -- what did s/he say about your discharge?
Presumably your negative test results soon after your last sexual contact included blood tests for HIV and syphilis and urine for gonorrhea and chlamydia. And maybe others, if you had one of the typical test panels offered by many laboratories. You can confidently exclude any of the infections included in those tests.
I have a hard time understanding what your doctor intended to treat with doxycycline. Perhaps intended as much to reassure you against NGU, chlamydia, syphilis, etc? In any case, failure of your symptoms to improve with doxy is evidence against any of these infections.
Taken together, your symptoms fit best with your own awareness of a previous experience with "just overthinking": they are typical for anxiety magnifying minor symptoms or even normal body sensations that otherwise would not be bothersome and perhaps not even noticed. Has your doctor said anything along these lines? In any case, they are not due to any infection acquired from any sex partner. If they are related to your sexual experience(s), I am convinced the connection is psychological.
In summary, I wouldn't be at all worried about any STI.
I hope these comments are helpful. Let me know if anything isn't clear.
