[Question #10416] General STI risk with a sex worker
23 months ago
|
Could you please comment if there was any risk of transmission for any of the major STIs (including HIV) for any of the below events with a sex worker? I am a male and had the event with a female.
1. General frottage with lingerie on
2. Sucking nipples without observing any visible fluids
3. Having nipples sucked for extended period of time
4. Receiving end of digital-anal sex, but with a plastic glove
5. Sharing a hot tub with said worker
6. Receiving a handjob
Thank you

Welcome back to the forum. In preparing to reply, I scanned your discussion with Dr. Hook a few months ago. It makes me wonder what you expect to gain from these questions: all these types of exposure were addressed then or the answers should be obvious even if the specific exposure wasn't addressed. Dr. Hook's replies were quite detailed not only about risk level, but the reasons for absence of risk. Therefore my replies are succinct.

1. Frottage is never a risk for HIV, regardless of lingerie or other clothing.
2,3. There is no risk from oral contact with breasts or nipples, both giving and receiving.
4,6. Hand-genital contact and fingering (either anal or vaginal) have never been known to transmit HIV and also are zero or near zero risk for all STIs.
5. Zero risk from sharing showers, hot tubs, etc.
If anything isn't clear, please go back and re-read your discussion with Dr. Hook (no. 9923) then let me know what I can clarify.
