[Question #10434] Final follow up on Unprotected Oral Sex Exposure

Hi Doctors,
Just asking one last question primarily for reassurance about not catching HIV from the oral exposure I had with a female csw (received) and known male contact (given and received). I understand my risk with the female was low for hiv.
I had spoken to my male friend and he said he doesn't test often as he hasn't had risky exposures in a year and hasn't felt sick since his last hiv check. I have been made aware he's had one oral exposure before me.
This has made me slightly nervous as I have had symptoms since my last question and I'm not sure the timings match.
Just listing out the symptoms in the next post as it breaks the word count and if you can tell me if you still think there isn't any real risk of HIV here.

There was a fever on the 15th day which I didn't notice but it was a temp of 38.2 and persistent sore throat and swollen lymph nodes. I also had dry mouth and some nasal congestion.
Day 21 Went to the doctor while travelling and he gave me a triaxone shot for the fever and next day I developed a dry skin rash on my arms but quickly cleared up after I put skin cream within two days ( I have dry skin issues and a slight penicillin allergy)
He also noticed there's persistent gum disease and that my wisdom teeth might be causing the issue. A check with the dentist confirms I need to pull out three of them.
Now I understand and logic dictates that the wisdom teeth may be causing all of these issues however I have flashing pain in my hands, joints and calves and sometimes my testicular area all the way to my toes and ring finger area.
I assumed wisdom teeth problems only affect the head heck and shoulders so I'm understandbly nervous of this.
Besides that I do have a recurring nightsweat without feeling feverish and no major muscle pain except shooting pains in the joints and areas I mentioned.
As you can tell I'm reffering to other responses and trying my best to keep calm so I just need one final assessment on these exposures.
I will be testing soon as I'm travelling around for work and headed back now to do this as I was no where near a clinic. My apologies.

It is a shame you have returned to the Forum with these repetitive questions. We discourage repetitive questions and reserve the right to decline to answer them, as well as to close, repetitive, anxiety-driven questions without a response and without return of the posting fee, Your now 3rd follow-up falls into this category. I will provide brief responses, then the thread will be closed. You need to move on.
---
I'll begin by copying part of Dr. Handsfield' s prior response to you: "As I said in your recently closed thread, "there is no measurable risk of HIV" from receiving oral sex (or hand-genital contact). Expanding on that statement, in the 40 years of the known worldwide HIV/AIDS pandemic, there has never been a proved case of HIV transmission oral to penis. Based on how some people believe they were infected -- which often is mistaken -- CDC once calculated a risk of one chance in 20,000 if the oral partner had HIV. That's equivalent to receiving BJs by infected partners once daily for 55 years before catching HIV might be likely. In other words, zero for all practical purposes. This is why I advised that testing for HIV in this circumstance is primarily for reassurance and not because of actual risk; and why it is safe for you to continue unprotected sex with your wife."
The idea that because you are traveling you cannot test is non-sensical. Testing is available worldwide without prolonged delay. Since you are having trouble believing us, you should test to prove that you do not have HIV.
Brief answers/comments to your further questions: None of the symptoms you describe are the least bit suggestive of HIV or any other STI- this statement includes "shooting pains", feeling feverish, or night sweats.

Apologies once again doctor. I didn't include these symptoms in my previous thread and just wanted to get an insight and thank you for dispellling my fears. You can close this thread.
