[Question #10450] Folow-up on STD transmission #10446

Hi, sorry to be back already. I asked about the possibility of having STI/Syphilis/HIV before today. I do understand that there should not be a possibility since my exposure was handjob. Anyway I am so tired of worrying by myself, so I decided to ask. I now spotted a pump on thigh under My testicle. It is red, kind of pimple way and when I squeezed it there camed some pus. If you can review the case #10446 again and answer these questions:
1. Can syphilis chancer appear to thigh/Under testicle
2. Can syphilis chancre have pus
3. Would this change your opinion what comes on My risk / being tested again/still
Thanks in advanced.

To Be More accurate so it is under my testicle not on my leg side but on a side of testicle so not in thigh exactly

Update/Summary: Spotted a red bump on border where skin meets The scrotum on thigh. Squuezed it and yellow/whiteish pus came out. Now after the pus came out it is just red round flat area, size tip of my littlefinger. It is not painfull, handjob aprox 5 weeks ago. Worried sick.

Welcome back to the forum although I'm sorry you felt the need. As you know, Dr. Handsfield and I share the Forum and so I reviewed your earlier interaction with Dr. Handsfield. I totally agree with his statement that "For the 20 years of this and our preceding forum, with thousands of questions, we have always advised that hand-genital contact is free of risk, even if genital fluids or saliva are used for lubrication."
Regarding your follow-ups:
1. Can syphilis chancer appear to thigh/Under testicle
A syphilis chancre can occur at virtually any site of DIRECT sexual contact with an infectious lesion. What you describe however sounds nothing like a chancre, it sounds. both by your description and location like folliculitis, a common, non-STI skin infection that most people get from time to time
2. Can syphilis chancre have pus
No. Syphilis chancre's have clean bases.
3. Would this change your opinion what comes on My risk / being tested again/still
Absolutely not.
I hope that information I have provided will help you move forward. I see no reason for concern and no reason for testing. EWH

Thanks Doc. What a reliefi. So just that I get this right, because If I did it helps a lot.
Direct contact means for example:
1. In order to have chancer Under My scortum The exact area off My thigh/scortum should have Been in touch with another persons chancer
So,
2.Penis touching another persons chancer means that the Chancer should occur on Penis not in scrotum?
Or am I simplyfying too much right now?
Another one is that how come some where, even on reliable sites (depending on country) have been stated that the transfer of syphilis might be possible to transfer Via hands if a person touches own syphilictic sore/cahncer first and then another persons genitals.

I did not have Space, so Will mention this still on this seperate message:
In a mean time I agree that my symptom is probably folliculitis, I am just Been so stressed that my brain told me immediately that because of The timing it can't Be anything else than syphilis. I actually am having this kind of boils or whatever sometimes, but not often and they are usually are located in thigs not on The root of my balls.
Anyways would appreciate If you can answer for questions above, it has been oddly difficult to move on.

This is NOT an STI!!! I've seen syphilis in too many different locations to mention but never in the locations you describe. I suspect your stress is more a manifestation of your guilt than anything else. No amount of antibiotics or testing will help this. OTOH. confidential, professional counseling can do wonders. EWH---

Ok Thank you I understand. This question is just for the future and for my knowledge so I dont scare every pimple I have on my thighs or aroun genitals. Could syphilis ucler appear to some place Else than where the contact has happened. For example if my penis touches the infected chancer could The primary sore show up on in My anal or scrotum or will it always appear on penis.

As you know, this will be my final response.
Syphilis is transmitted ONLY by DIRECT contact. Thus the only place a syphilis lesion would be expected to occur is a place where there is direct contact, If the area did not touch a lesion, a chancre would not occur.
I remain convinced that you are worrying about syphilis far more than is appropriate for this relatively rare STI. EWH
