[Question #10499] Oral Exposure - Possible HIV?

Hi,

Two days ago I received a handjob from a sex worker at a massage parlor. For most of the time she just stroked my penis but there were occasions where she would  briefly lick or kiss my penis shaft or balls. When I came, I did not cum her mouth. Afterward, I asked her about STD testing and she said she gets tested and is on Prep.  I already went to my PCP and she said I should not be worried about HIV nor qualify for Pep at all.

Is there any risk for HIV or any other STDs from this single exposure?

Welcome to the forum.

HIV is not transmissible by hand-genital contact, even if genital fluids are used for lubrication. Even with real oral sex (mouth to penis, which you did not have) there was little or no risk for HIV and very low for all other STDs as well -- and certainly there is no risk from brief licking or oral contact with scrotum skin. On top of all that, it sounds like there is almost no chance your partner has HIV. Your PCP is exactly right:  my clinic also would have refused to prescribe PEP even if you had begged for it.

Other STDs are also zero risk for all practical purposes. For STI/HIV purposes, you did not have sex and were not at risk in any way. No testing is needed. Don't worry about it.

Let me know if anything isn't clear. Best wishes and stay safe.

Thanks for the clarification doctor. Even though she licked my penis a couple of times, there is no risk for orally transmitted diseases like herpes or gonorrhea correct?

Correct:  tongue contact with penis or anywhere else on your body is not likely to transit herpes, gonorrhea or any other STD. ---
