[Question #10579] NGU and typical Urethra

My scenario is I am a male and another male performer oral on me for no longer than 10 seconds. I’ve tested negative for all STDs including Trich. I feel sometimes when I start thinking about it some itching/ sensation in my urethra. No noticeable discharge or increased frequency or pain. I believe my symptoms are most likely psychosomatic as I have gone a month without worry and all symptoms go away but then anxiety creeps back up and I start to feel some sensation. I do have a few questions below:
1. Based off this exposure what risk is NGU and should I go off testing for it?

2. Upon close inspection of my urethra and opening I see some bluish coloring that I believe could be a superficial vein or something. It sometimes is less blue and more red but it varies. Would this be anything of concern?

3. Can I move forward without worry of exposing anyone to anything based off my negative results and no real symptoms? basically if I did get something would it have shown up by now?

Thank you

Welcome back to the forum, but I'm sorry you found it necessary. Based on your questions and the nature of your testing discussed last time, it is apparent you are far more anxious about HIV and other STDs than is warranted by the exposures you describe. Oral sex is safe sex -- not entirely free of STD/HIV risk, but far lower chance of infection that for vaginal or anal sex.
Your present symptoms are typical for anxiety magnifying trivial symptoms or normal body sensations that otherwise would not be bothersome and probably not even noticed. You're paying too close attention! While NGU indeed can be acquired by oral sex, its symptoms are discharge from the penis and sometimes uncomfortable urination, beginning within 10 days of exposure, not weeks later; and the stmptoms do not include the sorts of symptoms you describe. Further, NGU from oral sex is harmless, and also harmless for sex partners.

1. Your risk of NGU is near zero after a 10 second exposure, and if it were to have happened you would have had typical symptoms soon after the exposure, i.e. 4 months ago.

2. This description sounds normal. You're looking too closely and paying more attention than necessary to the appearance of your urethra.

3. Yes you can move forward without worry. Nothing is wrong. If you remain convinced otherwise, see a urologist.

I hope these comments are helpful. Let me know if anything isn't clear.

Thank you I agree I am being too anxious. I was just worried I got something and just had no symptoms but didn't know when to let it go and stop looking for stuff.

Thank you!
