In October 5-7 I had sore throat but later it became ok.

But started stressing out a lot, could not sleep at night, panic attacks started, and some night sweats for 4-5 days but later calmed down somehow, and can sleep with antidepressant and no night sweats now.

26.10.2023 HIV/AIDS Ag/Ab negative. 90 days

29.10.2023 Anti HIV test negative. 92 days

I am very nervous and losing weight and also have some oral thrush. Taking some serotonin and sometimes mainly in the mornings have frequent urination.

I want to do HIV RNA/PCR test.

I hear about window periods of 6 months for some types of HIV. Is this true?

Can HIV PCR or RNA tests detect both HIV 1 and HIV 2?

Are my tests conclusive at 92 days and my symptoms are results of anxiety or hivphobia?

Welcome to our Forum. Thanks for your questions.  I'll be glad to comment.

If you had asked if you needed to worry at all, I would have said no, and that there is no need at all for testing.  HIV is NOT transmitted by using the same eating utensils or drinking from the same glass.  This has never been proven to happen.  That this person had dental work earlier in the day does not change this assessment in any way.

You have PROVED that you were not infected.  Your tests for HIV at 90 and 92 days prove that you were not infected.  All tests for HIV would be positive long before 90 days if you had been infected.  Anyone who tells you that you need to wait until 90 days for conclusive testing is incorrect- either their knowledge is out of date or they are misinformed

Thrush is seen in many situations other than HIV.  If you have thrush (which should be diagnosed by a health care provider), then they should look for reasons other than HIV for your thrush.  .

You do not need an HIV PCR tests.  HIV PCR tests become positive about 11 days after an exposure and, in untreated persons, remain positive.  Given the test results you already have, PCR testing is a was of time and money.

Please do not worry.  You do not have HIV.  EWH

Thank you very much for your quick response. I appreciate. As I understand the symptoms that I have are result of anxiety. And there is no need for further testing and I can continue my life as I am now infected. And there is no need for further testing until 6 month.

Your summary is accurate.  You are not infected and there is no need for additional testing.  Please don’t worry.  EWH ---

Doctor my anxiety does not go away. I did HIV RNA test at 102 days and also HIV 1/2 antibody tests both came again negative in Turkey/Istanbul in a well know lab. They also assured that transmission of HIV via sharing glass is not possible. But I keep thinking about maybe it is HIV 2 or there is not antibody yet to detect by tests. Please give me some suggestions. Is this possible to do HIV2 rna test and clear everthing from my mind. Why internet writes about 6 months window period?

I’m sorry that you are having trouble excepting the reassurance I have provided. Your testing is absolutely conclusive. HIV two PCR tests are available when specifically requested. You do not need HIV to testing. However, you do not need testing at all.

Many of our clients are misled by their efforts to find information on the Internet. Much of what is found on the Internet is incorrect, either because it is out of date, taken out of context, misinterpreted, or just plain wrong. Because there are no editors on the Internet, there is no way to tell which statements are correct and which are not. My strong advice to you is to ignore the Internet.

As you know, we provide up to three responses to each clients question. This is my third response. Therefore this thread will be closed shortly without further responses. There should be no need for additional questions. EWH.
