I wanted to follow up on a clarification from a previous question.

1. Can you get oral gonorrhea or chlamydia from only receiving oral on penis?

2. Are these cured on their own without antibiotics?

Thank you

Welcome back to the Forum although I'm sorry you felt the need.  As you know, Dr. Handsfield and I share the Forum and on this occasion I happened to pick up your latest questions.  In preparing to respond I closed your earlier thread and read your two earlier interactions with Dr. Handsfield.  I agree with all that he said, including that you are worrying far more than you need to.

IN response to your two latest questions:
1. Can you get oral gonorrhea or chlamydia from only receiving oral on penis?
Both gonorrhea and chlamydia are transmitted though DIRECT contact.  The infection does not spread from one site to another.  Thus, if your only exposure was receipt of oral sex, you could not have an oral infection.

2. Are these cured on their own without antibiotics?
Over time ( typically  a few weeks) both gonorrhea and chlamydia can resolve without antibiotic therapy.  Once they have cleared, they do not recur.

Please try to move forward and stop worrying.  EWH

Thank you for the clarification.  I feel much more confident to move on from this exposure.

Just to double check before I stop worrying all together. There is no need for me to test in a year or anything?

Thanks!

No need for future testing.  You're all set to move forward without concern.  Take care.  EWH---

Sorry for the follow up question but I had a question about the chlamydia and gonorrhea testing I had done regarding this question.

I had urine testing done and at 1 week, 2 weeks, and about 9 weeks. The repeat testing was mainly because I was concerned with it not being a first drop ( I urinated an hour prior on the first, then waited 2 hours for the second test, then did not urinate for at least 5 hours before the 9 week test.)

Does this affect the accuracy of the test? Should I be concerned I had a false negative?
Thank you

False negative urine tests for gonorrhea and chlamydia are rare and the chances that three tests would all be negative and you could still be infected are virtually zero.   That you may have voided before you were tested would not meaningfully effect the accuracy of your tests.  I encourage you to have complete confidence in your test results.

This 3rd reply will complete this thread.  EWH
