[Question #10626] Receiving Oral and possible symptoms
21 months ago
|
My exposure was over 160 days ago (over 5 months). I (male) received unprotected oral from another male lasting only about 20 seconds before stopping. No completion. That was the only physical contact. This was in a group setting so I am not sure if the other male had performed oral an anyone else prior. My concern there being any cross contamination.
I did conduct the following testing:
- Syphilis RPR Testing - 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 12 weeks, 15 weeks (all negative)
- HIV 1&2 Antibody (4th Gen) - 2 weeks, 5 weeks, 12 weeks, 15 weeks (all negative)
- Chlamydia and Gonorrhea (Urine Test) - 2 weeks, 9 Weeks (all negative)
- I have already been exposed the herpes and have that under control.
I have had no symptoms although about a week after I had a herpes outbreak which I believe was caused by my stress regarding this exposure as stress is my normal trigger. Also I tested after the outbreak which I believe rules out any other cause.
My questions are the following:
1. Should I be done testing with these results? Can they be considered conclusive?
2. In the past two days I developed a small sore that is painful around my anus. I believe this could be an ingrown hair or something else but my anxiety makes me second guess these results although it doesn't really fit any STD. Do you believe I can stop attributing any sensation/ sore/ other to an STD given these test results?
Thank you,

Welcome to our Forum. Thanks for your questions. I'll be glad to provide some information and comment. The encounter you describe was very low risk. Most people do not have STIs and few STIs are transmitted through receipt of oral sex. Some STIs, like HIV have never been proven to be acquire from oral sex and others, like gonorrhea, chlamydia and syphilis are uncommon. In your case however, your test results prove that you were not infected. They have been taken at a time when they are entirely conclusive. Thus, in answer to your specific questions:
1. Yes, your results are entirely conclusive
2. You should look for another cause for your discomfort. It is not an STI.
There is no need for continuuing concern about STIs and no need for further testing. I hope this information is helpful. EWH---
