[Question #10650] HSV2 potentially?

I am a 27 year old female. So here is the situation, I had unprotected sexual intercourse with a guy who I have had before. Stupidly enough, I did this while he had a tiny pimple on his shaft which I believe to be nothing as it did not look suspicious. Then, a week after I noticed a five bumps on the top of my left thigh. So if you were looking at my thigh, it was pretty much right in the middle of it. There were a few red bumps, they were flat and in a way resembled sort of bug bites because they weren’t tiny like pimples. These bumps were basically in a close cluster, but no blisters or any sign of scabbing. Then after a two days, I was going to go to get them checked out by my PCP but they disappeared. It was very strange how quick they were gone. But then I swore I saw a few tiny red bumps at the bottom of my palm. But these also went away within a day.
1. Does this sounds like a first episode of herpes? I have cold sores, so I know I have HSV1. Could this be a first episode infection? I was reading an article that most would happen at the site of infection so I wasn’t sure.
2. There was no pain, tenderness, or itching with this presentation. Could it have been something else do you think?

It's a bit difficult to know what's going on here - a tiny pimple on the shaft of his penis could have been just that - a pimple but it's hard to know for sure.
Normally, a person who acquires a new herpes infection gets their symptoms at the site of exposure which for you would be vagina, labia. Recurrences of herpes can show up on the thigh, but that be very unlikely with a new infection. They also went away very quickly for a new herpes infection.
I think it could definitely be something other than herpes. Have you ever been tested for herpes in the past?

Thanks Terri for looking over my question. I have not been tested for herpes in the past, but I consulted with my doctor, and she told me that I should stop worrying since the bumps went away so quickly and that they were on the thigh as you said too. I just had one other question.
1. Since these bumps appeared on the thigh first, would that most likely rule out a potential “new” HSV2 infection from that encounter?

Yes, it would. When someone has a new infection, the sores show up in the location initially exposed, so genitals.
