[Question #10656] Sore throat/Body Weakness

Hello
i do have a seperate question from my previous post all together.

I had a CSW  massage on Saturday.

Frottage massage with no vaginal or oral sex. However she did French Kiss me a couple times. With her tongue and Saliva no longer than 6 to 10 seconds on two seperate ocassions,

Are you able to shed light on the risk of STD specifically Oral Gonnorrhea.

Post exposure fast forward to Tuesday i went for a STD test where they swabbed my throat which was very uncomfortable. This test was not for this exposure rather a STD test in general. The following day my throat started to become sore sort of like always clearing and my whole body is now fighting some cold/infection as I keep coughing up (no mucus but a cold cough of sorts).

My symptoms since the massage are :

Throat where i am clearing  my throat as it always has something to clear and some coughing.
My body feels weak as I clearly am fighting an infection, but wondering if it is a general cold vs any std.

Questions:

Is this possible an STD infection - reading about oral gonorrhea in Australia or syhpillis but unsure.

Would the throat swab reflect any infection if i had one - i assume not as the window is too quick?

Do you recommend any testing based on that exposure followed by my symptoms.

Do you recommend i pause sexual activity with my regular partner .

Welcome back, but I'm sorry you found it necessary.

I think you are overreacting to a no risk situation. You have misunderstood some if not all the information you found online about kissing and gonorrhea. First, transmission of gonorrhea by kissing seems to be entirely limited to men who have sex with men. The reasons are not clear, but it likely concerns the duration and "vigor" of kissing between men in certain circumstances. Second, oral gonorrhea rarely causes symptoms -- 90-95% of cases have no sore throat or anything else.

You don't state the test result of your throat swab for gonorrhea testing, but you definitely should expect it to be negative. Your symptoms more likely are due to a common upper respiratory virus. (I don't understand your description of an "STD test in general" versus a test "not for this exposure". The gonorrhea swab test is no different regardless of the reason the test was done.

Those comments partly address your specific questions, but to assure no misunderstanding:

1. It is very unlikely your symptoms are due to gonorrhea or any other STD. Syphilis is impossible as a cause:  no symptoms until a chancre (open sore) develops, no sooner than 8-10 days after exposure.

2. Three days (Saturday to Tuesday) is plenty of time for a gonorrhea test to be reliable. As noted above, you can expect a negative result, which will be valid and reliable.

3. I do not recommend any other testing.

4. I see no need to hold off on sex with your regular partner.

I hope these comments are helpful. Let me know if anything isn't clear.

Thank you for your answers

My throat swab came back negative. so all clear as you suggested.

I do have a question: The CSW had a rather fishy smell in her vagina when we masturbated each other.

what are the main risks from a massage - is Trich a possible std that can be passed on from skin to skin massage.

From a bacterial end - after masturbating/Fingering her is there any risk of stds or any bacterial infection that is not std that can be only obtained sexually when i transfer my hand from her vagina to my penis.

thank you kindly and that will be all.

Sorry I should say after masturbating/fingering her and before touching myself I did wash my hands with soap. I doubt that makes a difference? But thought I would mention it regarding the risks relating from The fishy smell.

Glad to hear of your negative oral gonorrhea test, but of course not surprised. There is never risk for any STD from massage that doesn't involve vaginal, anal or oral penetration. Massage in general and hand-genital contact or vaginal or anal fingering are zero risk for any and all STIs.

Fishy vaginal odor is quite common and usually the result of bacterial vaginosis, an overgrowth of mostly normal vaginal bacteria. BV sometimes is an STI, but many cases don't seem to be sexually acquired. In any case, there is no male counterpart to BV, i.e. it isn't a risk to male partners. And certainly doesn't imply risk of STI transmission during massage.

We have had occasional questions about trichomonas being transmitted by hand-genital contact etc. There is absolutely no evidence that such a thing happens and all comments to the contrary should be ignored. Such rumors probably originate because vaginal trich can persist for years, leading to occasional diagnosis in women at no recent risk for sexual acquisition. This sort of thing has always led to speculation about nonsexual acquisition, like from toilet seats etc. But that's not the reason; it's only because of delayed diagnosis of infection that originally was sexually acquired.

I missed your last follow-up question. Of course it's reasonable to wash up after such events, but the main reasons are for general aesthetics and hygiene, and to reduce the risk of easily transmitted infections like cold viruses, staph, strep, and the like. But STIs aren't a risk even without washing, and the bacteria associated with BV (vaginal odor) are harmless.

That concludes this thread. This being your second about your concerns about trichomonas and other STIs following massage, it should be your last along these lines. Repeated questions on the same topic may be deleted without reply and without refund of the posting fee. Thanks for your understanding. I do hope the two discussions have been useful:  if other questions about these issues come to mind, I suggest carefully re-reading both threads; the answers probably are there.

Best wishes and stay safe.
