[Question #10693] HSV2 aggravating or initiating IBS, UC, or diverticulitis attacks

I am 69 years old male. I was born with a weak immune system. I contracted HSV2 44 years ago. I was considered for dismissal from the US Army because my initial outbreak was bad. I still suffer 3-4 recurrences a year. The initial outbreak nerve pain in my lower left tail bone has morphed into sciatica attacks. My recurrences still bring the dizzying fevers, but sometimes there are small or no accompanying sores. I think my HSV2 has become smarter. I have IBS, UC and diverticulitis. Is it possible my HSV2 is
triggering or aggravating my bad guts? I know my bad guts are mechanical, hereditary predispositions. I know my HSV2 did not create these conditions, but are my conditions worsened, aggravated or initiated by my HSV2 ?

I do not think that your HSV 2 is related to your IBT, UC and divertiulitis.  Your HSV 2 has not aggravated these conditions either.  They are two separate bodily systems.  When you say that the recurrences bring dizzying fevers, but sometimes you have no sores, why is it that you think these are recurrences of your HSV 2?  If these are bothering you, have you considered doing daily suppressive therapy to reduce the symptoms of herpes?
