Hello doctor, I Finally got the courage to test, although it was a oraquick from Walmart. Results were negative. Is this a sufficient test. Can I believe the results?

Welcome back to the Forum. On this occasion your question came to me rather than Dr. Handsfield so I will be answering. FYI, Dr. Handsfield an I have worked together for more than 40 years and while or verbal styles differ somewhat, the substance of our replies never differ.
I reviewed your earlier interaction with Dr. Handsfield and agree with all that he said- the encounter you described was close to no risk for HIV. Your testing proves that the symptoms you described were not due to HIV and provides even more evidence that you did not acquire HIV from the encounter. At this pint I see no medical or scientific reason for further testing.
Believe the results. Its time to move forward without concern. EWH

Thanks for your quick reply.
So these results would be considered absolutely conclusive 7 month after last sexual encounter? Even though it was a self admisterd test.

Thanks for the additional information. The home tests are equivalent to lab based tests. Your results are especially reliable after verifying your initial result with a 2nd test. It's time to put these concerns aside and move forward.
As you know, we provide up to three responses to each client's questions. This is my 3rd response. Thus this thread will be closed shortly. Please don't worry. There is no need for further testing and no need for concern. EWH
