[Question #10739] Symptoms question: HPV and warts

Hello,
I found your site after many days of research and asking questions on multiple other forums. So I am hopeful you can help me.
For background, went to a strip club, got talked into a handjob, she did use a condom. No gential fluids. This happened a few months back. Feelings of guilt and shame of what I have done to my wife and that it will cost me my marriage. We have been married for 35 yrs. I did std testing, including HIV, I negative.
Now my brain has moved onto HPV and warts, which I think is no risk from what I did. However I am having sensations that feel like tingling, burning and discomfort in my private pasts. When I check and look I don't see anything, maybe a little red on the bag. I want to believe that this in my head from guilt but could this be the start of warts forming? I am very scared. Thanks for your help

Welcome to our Forum. Thanks for your questions. Congratulations on your practice of safe sex outside your marriage- it will do much to keep you safe. Receipt of masturbation (handjobs) is considered safe, virtually no risk sex by all experts, as well as the WHO and US CDC. The use of a condom strengthens that this was a no risk event. You are not at risk for acquistion of HPV from receipt of masturbation. Further, your symptoms are not due to any STI. In fact, we often find that when clients are worried about STIs and looking carefully for symptoms, they often notice otherwise normal sensations which they would otherwise ignore. I suspect that this is the source of the symptoms you report- they are not due to HPV which is typically totally asymptomatic.
Please don't worry. EWH

Hello Dr.Hook.
Thank you for the fast response and your answers Didn't expect it.
So just because I am in the place I am in. And you have been a help. When you mean virtually no risk, like lightening in a bottle? But the condom makes this a no/zero risk thing? I have no/zero risk of passing anything onto my wife? And I guess any health concern would not be from this?
I can safely move on?

No, I have never seen someone who is acquired, genital warts, or HPV infection with their old exposure is receipt of masturbation. Once again, I encourage you to move forward without concern.
As you may know, we provide up to three responses to each clients questions. As this is my third response, the thread will be closed shortly without additional responses.
Take care. Please don’t worry. EWH.

Do you think I will be your first to acquire warts? Sorry fear is high but I hope to get there. If you can answer back. I will not be back to the forum as I have all the information I would need. Thanks again

Sigh- this follow-up is anxiety driven and non-sensical. Please don't worry. If the problem is still on your mind, I would respectfully suggest that the issue is one of guilt, not risk for warts.
End of thread. EWH
