[Question #10754] Sti risk from hand job and fingering

Received a handjob with lubricant from a prostitute. I also fingered the worker. concerned to be an edge case where hand to genital could have transmitted herpes.
I’m worrying about multiple different matters. 1.) 23 days post incident I feel a small lump where my testicle skin meets my groin on the right side. More pronounced when I’m lying down and feeling the area v. Standing and feeling. Swollen node from sti outbreak? Or Potential hernia? 2.) On my upper right thigh also near my groin I have the appearance of what likely is a skin tag. Raised skin slightly darker than skin tone (if at all). Odds it could be hpv or something sti related? 3.) I have a white dot on upper left testicle skin noticed this for a few months now. I use an electric trimmer to shave the area. Has been visible before incident but no pain. Likely an ingrown hair but could it be something else? 4.) Sensation of skin tingling burning in groin area on the insides of both thighs last couple of days. Small white bumps noticed as well but can’t be sure if I’m exaggerating these at this point. I live in the northeast and skin is dry all around this time of year. 5) Most notably cold / flu like symptoms two weeks ago. Residual cough still active from what appears to be post nasal drip. Phlegm build up cough sticking around and at time moderate to heavy where I’ve had to vomit phlegm up and the strength of cough has left abdominal area sore. Potentially 1 & 5 tie together rather than an STI?

Am I at risk for anything sti related from this encounter?

Welcome to our Forum. Thanks for your questions and for your implied confidence in our service.  I'll be glad to comment.  Receipt of masturbation, even when saliva or other lubricant is used is a no risk event for acquistion of STIs including herpes.  The CDC, the WHO and experts are unanimous on this- if your only exposure was receipt of masturbation, there is no risk for STI and no need for testing.   Regarding your specific questions:

1.  What you describe may be a lymph node but it would take direct examination to be sure.  It is normal for persons to be able to feel lymph nodes at certain parts of the body including at the top of the thigh (the inguinal region), under the armpit, under the jaw or in the neck- this is most typically normal and usually goes unnoticed unless a person gets anxious and starts looking for them.

2.  This sounds nothing like a wart.  Further, FYI, it takes several months for a wart to become visisble following infection.

3.  It sounds to me like you are looking far too hard for signs of an STI- when STIs are symptomatic, you really don't have to look for them.

4.  Similar to comment #3 above, when you start looking for abnormal sensations it is typical to become aware of entirely sensations that you typically ignore.

5.  Cough is production of sputum is not a sign of any STI, including HIV.

Bottom line, receipt of masturbation is a no risk event with no need for concern of for testing.  EWH

Thank you for the thorough reply. Fair to say if I decide to be seen for the perceived lymph node  or cyst I may or may not have in my groin that it is not necessary to mention my encounter 3 weeks ago? By all accounts it sounds like from my thread and the many similar ones mutual masturbation is as close to a zero risk event there is. Perhaps I need to focus on my anxiety above all. Thank you for your guidance.

It’s quite hard to say what you’ve felt but I am confident that what you’ve felt is unrelated to the encounter that you’ve described.

Please don’t worry.  EWH

Sorry somewhat concerned - now 5 weeks since the incident. I’m uncircumcised and have the slightest red dot on my penis shaft. As well as Minor pimple looking mark inner left thigh with the occasional burning sensation. Is this coincidence? I’m paranoid given my marital status. This can’t be explained with possible std from hand job event? Look forward to your feedback.

Your are receiving your third and final response somewhat more quickly than is normal because I happened to be on the site when your follow-up arrived.  I suspect that what you have noticed is due to the fact that you are looking far more closely than is normal because of your guilt related to the encounter you described.  I can assure you that what you have noticed is not due to an STI acquired from the receipt of masturbation that you described..

Please try not to worry.

This concludes this thread.   EWH
