[Question #10781] Oral Sex Symptoms

Hello,

I received oral from CSW last week Monday. I noticed a small red dot on my penis head, is this an STD, HPV? Herpes or a cherry angioma?

No other symptoms present, I plan to get an STD test next week.

Welcome back to the Forum.  As you know, Dr. Handsfield and I share the Forum and on this occasion I happened to get your question.  I reviewed your earlier interaction with Dr. Handsfield and agree with all that he said, Including "....Assuming no symptoms (discharge from the penis, painful urination), you can expect negative test results. Blood tests for syphilis and HIV will be valid in 6 weeks. However, these also are optional -- the risk of infection is near zero."

Among penetrative sexual encounters oral sex is the lowest risk.  As Dr. Handsfield indicated, there are no known instances when someone has acquired HIV from receipt of fellatio.  Other STIs may occur but are relatively rare as well.  The principle STI acquired from receipt of oral sex is gonorrhea and that is typically symptomatic.  Chlamydia, syphilis,  and HPV are all rarely acquired from  oral sex .

As for the spot on your penis, this is too early to be HPV which typically takes months to appear.

My guess is that this encounter has left you more watchful than normal and you have noticed something that may have been present or would have been ignored if you were not looking more closely than usual.  What you describe certainly does not sound like an STI.  EWH
