Hi
Thanks for your help
Been working away in mid West for the last month
I met up with a male approx 4 weeks ago and had oral sex with him, me being the receiver only
I had no pain when urinating or discharge for the next week
Then I met another guy and did the same with him unprotected oral no ejaculated and for about 2 minutes
7 days after that I had sex with my regular female partner I still had no pain urinating and no discharge
The day after she had pain urinating, she tends to get cystitis and Utis
But she took a tablet and was better pretty much straight away
Then about 4 days after she had headaches sore throat bladder pain and painful urination
She took antibiotics and it seems to have gone after 2 days the antibiotics were for uti
I still have no pain or discharge
Dr
1 could I have a sti and give it to her
You say that gonnarhea has noticeable symptoms but could I have Chlamydia and it may be a systematic
Thanks

Welcome to the Forum. I'll be glad to comment. Your only exposures outside of your regular female partner were receipt of oral sex from other men. These are relatively low risk exposure- most people do not have oral STIs and even when they do, most single exposures do not lead to infection. When STIs are acquired the most common STI acquired is gonorrhea which is typically symptomatic with urethral discharge or irritation on urination. HIV has never been shown to be transmitted through receipt of oral sex and chlamydia is extraordinarily rare.
The action or penile vaginal sex can increase the risk for UTIs in women- this is not an STI but results from the mechanical action of penile vaginal sex'
I very much doubt that you have acquired any STI from the encounters you describe and suspect that your partner's UTI are coincidence, nothing more. If you wish to assure yourself, then testing for gonorrhea and chlamydia with a urine test is easy and highly accurate. If you choose to test, I anticipate that the tests will should that you were not infected.
I hope this information is helpful. EWH

Hi and thanks for your reply
As I had no symptoms of any sti
Would I be OK to resume sex with my partner
I know from reading the site Dr Handsfield often has said that it would be safe to resume sex if no symptoms had come after 7 days
I have been longer than that
Thanks

The chance that you were infected is VERY low. I would not hesitate to resume unprotected sex with your regular partner at this time. EWH---

Sorry to bother you again
My partner has still got her problem
She frequently needs to urinate
And I still 18 days after my exposure have no symptoms of a sti
Is your answer still the same
Sorry again

As you know, we provide up to 3 responses to each client's questions. This is my 3rd and final response. My assessment is unchanged. Your partner's continued symptoms are much, much more likely to be due to a persistent UTI than any STI acquired from the low risk encounters that you described. It sounds like she should be tested again. EWH---
