Hallo,
I'm not a native speaker so I hope my question is clear!
I was using test paper incorrectly so the test paper showed positive,  but the later hospital test after 3 month was posivite, but i'm still anxious on HIV and related disease. So my first question is that beside having sex and sharing needle, is there possibility of get HIV except of large and deep open wound directly conact with large amount of fresh blood?  Should I worried it at all in daily life?
My second question is about window period of Fourth gen lab test, the CDC says that window period is 45 day, but the figure is based on 99th percentile, so why there are about one percent cant test positive in 45 days? should I warriod about that 45 days can not be conclusive?
Thank u so much!

Welcome to our form. Thank you for your questions. Your question is clear.

It is frequently stated that contact with recent, open wounds can potentially lead to transmission of HIV. This situation is much rarer than the warning suggest. The wounds which transmit HIV are typically genital wounds due to genital ulcerations such as those caused by syphilis, not wounds on other parts of the body.  Direct contact with blood from an untreated, infected person is a very very rare means of HIV transmission if it occurs at all.

You can safely believe that your initial test was incorrect because of problems following the instructions. On the other hand, you should believe your hospital laboratory test.  You don’t describe the reason that you are concerned about HIV in detail, but my advice would be to believe the results of your hospital test and move forward without concern.

The CDC statement about occasional situations where fourth generation HIV test become positive after more than six weeks is overly conservative, and the true figure is substantially less than one percent. Neither Dr. Handsfield, nor I have ever heard or seen of such a case. My strong advice is to believe your test results. I move forward without continuing concern.

I hope this information is helpful to you. If anything is unclear, you have up to two follow up for clarification. EWH.

Thank u for reply! So in daily life without sex and shareing needle, It is impossible to get HIV ? And my negative lab test is  after window period so I should just keep going on with my life and not cared about HIV as well as test it again without other sex?
  Many Thanks

Correct.  HIV is NOT acquired through the activities of daily living.

Your negative test was taken at a time when you can be completely confident of the result.  I see no need for further testing unless you have future sexual exposures of concern.

Take care.  Please don't worry.  EWH
