[Question #10861] HIV Testing Question

Hallo,
I
have a question about HIV testing. My last sex was at 8/2022 so definitely exceed
window period. In 2023 July, I used HIV blood test paper incorrectly, at the
time I couldn’t prick my finger, so I thought that semen also has antibodies, therefore
I put semen into blood test paper and there were two lines in test paper, but later
I went to hospital and the result is negative. Because recently I see a social
platform article that semen can be used in HIV blood test paper, so it makes
me anxious. My question is what might cause the test paper reactive when using
semen instead of blood and in my case do I need to care about that reactive paper?
Thank you!

This is a rather repetitive question in which you provide a bit more detail than you did in our recent interaction. It does not change my reply. The rapid test was NOT designed to be used with ejaculate (semen) and thus the results you got should be ignored. On the other hand, you had a hospital laboratory test at a time when your results are conclusive. They should be believed. This is part of my earlier reply" You can safely believe that your initial test was incorrect because of problems following the instructions. On the other hand, you should believe your hospital laboratory test."
I hope that this reply will allow you to stop worrying and move forward. EWH
