[Question #10946] Latent - late syphilis

Hello,

I apologize i am here again. Please if you are so kind to answer this last question. I dont have a lot of money but i am still willing to spend in the hopes my mental health will improve.

So I asked previously about the testresult of the sexworker i slept with being VDRL/RPR Negative but CLIA antibodies positive.

Can a negative vdrl with a positive CLIA also indicate late/latent or tertiary syphilis?

My worry is that she might be still contagious to me when we met..

But my biggest worry is that somehow ,through my phonecase for example or via other objects I was able to carry the virus and spread it to other people and destroy there life.

- So is it possible that it was latent/ late / tertiary syphilis?

- Are these stages of syphilis still contagious? and do this the bacteria in this stage behave the same as with a primary chancre? So no chances of survival outside a human host even if the bacteria are trapped in for example a phone case?

I apologize in advance and hope you still want to help me

I'm sorry you're back. This is definitely the last time.

"Can a negative vdrl with a positive CLIA also indicate late/latent or tertiary syphilis?" Yes.

"My worry is that she might be still contagious to me when we met."  Not possible.

"Is it possible that it was latent/ late / tertiary syphilis?" Probably past, cured syphilis and very unlikely she has continued infection, but theoretically possible.

"Are these stages of syphilis still contagious?" No, never.

"...even if the bacteria are trapped in for example a phone case?" What nonsense!!! Syphilis by contact with a telephone??? I'm sorry, this deserves no further comment.

As you have been advised previously, repetitive anxiety driven questions are not permitted. There will be no discussion and this must be your last forum question on these topics. Further similar questions will receive no reply and the posting fee will not be refunded. This policy is based on compassion, not criticism, and is intended to reduce temptation to repeatedly pay for questions with obvious answers. In addition, experience shows that continued answers tend to prolong users' anxieties rather than reducing them. Finally, such questions have little educational value for other users, one of the forum's main purposes. Thank you for your understanding.
