Thank you Dr. Ed for the earlier response. I just wanted to add the following.
88 days tested for STD PANEL and came negative for HIV 4 th gen but positive for Trachomas Vaginalis. Took Metronidazole on 02/2 as prescribed from doctor.
Took 4th gen test again on 02/06 -100 days from exposure and tested negative for all STD panel test
Did the antibiotic i took affect the 4th gen hiv test i took on 02/06?
Do i need to take additional testing?

Welcome back to the forum. I'm taking this question, but I reviewed your recent discussion with Dr. Hook. I agree with his evaluation and advice.

The important aspect now is your positive test for Trichomonas vaginalis. Positive results are rare in men without symptoms, but the standard PCR tests are very reliable, so you definitely were infected. I'm glad you were treated. The effectiveness of single-dose metronidazole in males is not well established; if you had only single dose, it would be wise to have a follow-up urine test in a couple of weeks. Probably it will be negative, but better safe than sorry. In addition, you need to inform your partner from last October that you had trichomonas. She probably is the source of your infection and should be treated.

Your blood tests at 88 days are 100% reliable. There are NO medications or medical conditions that have any effect on the reliability of timing of the HIV gAb (4th generation) blood tests. No antibiotic has any effect. The biotin business you discussed with Dr. Hook is rare if it occurs at all; and never happens with the standard doses used in multivitamins or in conditioning programs. Your negative HIV test result proves for sure you do not have HIV. No more testing is needed.

I hope this information is helpful. Let me know if anything isn't clear.

Thank you for the response doctor.
I did test for the STD panel again in 100 says after exposure and 3 days after i took the metronidazole. All The results were negative including the trachomas vaginallis and 4th gen test.
Question
1.Do i conclude from this that the results are legit regardless of the antibiotics and i dont need additional testing?
2. If one is infected then no matter what after the window period for that test, the infection will always be seen in the blood when tested for HIV. So at 88 or 100 days if i was infected it would show ?
Thanks again. This will make me move on and not worry about the stupid mistake i made last year.

And i can continue to have sex with my wife protected/ unprotected as i am HIV free after the 88 and 100 day negative results.?
This will conclude me being paranoid from additional testing and move forward to a normal life.

I took 4 - 500 mg metridazole tablets at one time for treatment. It showed negative after the 3 day test.

1. Glad to hear your follow-up test was negative for trichomonas. You're cured and do not need to retest. You still need to tell your partner about it.

2. Once positive, the HIV AgAb (4th generation) blood test is positive for life. Your negative results are 100% proof you were not infected.

You can safely resume unprotected sex with your wife without putting her at risk of any STI from the sexual event 3+ months ago.
