Hello! I contracted hsv-1 on my genitals 8 years ago. I have had only one flare up about 6 months after the initial one. Both were mild cases. I am dating a man who has hsv-1 orally, he has about 1-2 cold sores a year. Is it possible for him to give me oral herpes, or for me to give him genital herpes since we are both already infected with hsv-1? 

Once someone has HSV in one location on their body, they are extremely unlikely to acquire it in a new location on their body so I think you are both OK to engage in sexual activity with the concern of getting the virus in a new location.---
