[Question #1102] Advice on a massage I had...

Not long back I posted a situation and your forum was very helpful. Recently, I have had another situation and just wanted to get a quick reading. (it is similar to my previous posting)

I am a bi-married male who enjoys getting massages from men. My routine massage guy is out of the country for two months on vacation so I tried another.  During a massage session this week the therapist was in his underwear for the entire session. There was a lot of body contact (for the massage and the erotic portions) and he manually gave me a hand job. No kissing and he was always in his underwear.

How risky is this for HIV/Herpes/Syphilis/etc.?

Lastly (and this might be coincidental)...I have a red bump (might be an ingrown hair or pimple as I shave) on my right thigh.  Thoughts?

Welcome back to the forum. However, in looking at your recent discussion with Dr. Hook, this question was really answered by him. STDs are not transmitted by means other than direct sex. With rare exceptions, that means penile penetration into another person's vagina, rectum or mouth. Even oral sex is low risk for all STDs and zero risk for some, and you didn't even have that. Body contact and hand-genital contact carry no appreciable risk for ny infection, and not STDs can be transmitted through clothing. You could not have acquired any STD from the events described and you do not need testing for anything. The bump on your thigh undoubtedly has nothing to do with this event.

Let me know if anything isn't clear. But for the future, you should now know it won't be necessary to worry about exposures like this, or to ask about them on this forum.

Best wishes and stay safe--  HHH, MD
