[Question #11125] Herpes

Hello doctors. I had sex with a woman recently who was a stranger to me. We did use a condom. I noticed the next day that I had what I believe to be a fungal rash on my scrotum. I know this will be unrelated to my encounter. However it is possible the rash came into contact with the genitals of the lady in question. Would this make it more likely that I might contract herpes if she had it? Also would it have any impact on catching any other std?

Thanks in advance.

Generally, the skin of the scrotum is thicker than the skin of the shaft of the penis, making it less vulnerable to penetration by the herpes virus.  Good job using a condom for this interaction.
Fungal rashes of the scrotum are quite common, as I think you know.  Even if the rash was present when you were having intercourse with this woman, I doubt that it was severe enough to break down the skin and allow HSV in.  It doesn't make you susceptible to any other STI
If you continue to be concerned about HSV, just observe non-obsessively for the 10 days following the encounter for sores, water blisters  or ulcerations on the scrotum.  I doubt you will see any
