[Question #11128] Followup question to #11114 (Dr. HHH) - Herpes Risk

Hi Dr. Handsfield,
I'm sorry to be back so soon as I thought I was in a good frame of mind after our original conversation.  Since then, with the emergence of a single red pimple on my stomach (above the navel), it has really made me nervous.  I am now 5 days from the 1st encounter with the stripper and 3 days from the last encounter (same girl both times).  I have not had any oral complications or noticed anything out of the ordinary there.  Nothing remarkable to report in the genital area either.

I would not have reopened an inquiry had this red spot not emerged yesterday.  Today it is more pronounced and sore.  During the 2nd encounter with the stripper, we kissing in a rented hot tub.  I was clothed from the waist down and she had string bikini bottoms on.  My chest/stomach area and legs were exposed to her covered genital area in and just above the water line.

I'm wondering if she could have brushed up or rested against my stomach if that would have transmitted herpes from her pubic area.  Is that even possible with no sex?  Again, I didn't notice any lesions/sores on her body or genital area from what I saw, but she was in very skimpy bottoms and near my bare stomach/chest.  Now I have this random pimple/red spot there 3 days later.  The timing is suspect but I can't seem to find anything concrete about herpes spreading this way.  Since I seem to be fine from an oral standpoint so far, should I now be concerned about HSV2 on my stomach?

I'm super concerned and just beside myself - I was ok until I saw this single pimple like spot.  On a side note, I feel like overall my skin has been itchy since the hot tub so maybe it's a reaction to an unclean environment.  Either way, my mind fears the absolute worst.  Thank you in advance for your thoughts!

The red bump on my stomach is completely isolated.  There does not appear to be other bumps forming anywhere else or clusters around this bump.  It may be too early to tell if it has any pus in it (white or yellow).  Today was the first real day that it formed.  Thanks again.

Latest update this morning - no change in the pimple/bump from overnight.  Still isolated and has not changed in any way.  Does not appear to be clustering or getting painful.  No other issues to report.  Sorry for the many updates - I just wanted to get the latest information to you.  Thanks!

The more I look at the red bump and compare it to pictures that I google online - it appears that herpes would present as clear or yellow clusters, pus filled or water filled.  I have yet to find a herpes outbreak picture on a body part/limb that is solely a single redish bump, particularly for a first outbreak.  This is a single red pimple-like bump, doesn't itch, doesn't burn, but is sore which seems more and more like a pimple/zit etc.  I'm definitely not an expert and I will not add anymore updates to the conversation to muddy the water.  Sorry for that.  Thanks!

Hello again Dr.,
I apologize to bombard you with so much info.  The good news is that I was able to apply pressure to the pimple and it popped - a stringlike thick white material came out just like a pimple/zit would pop, so I am relived about that.  I'm now beginning to have burning sensations in my genital area (specifically anus), general aches as well in my testicles.  The sensations are in the creases of my legs and under my scrotum as well.  Is this a HSV2 symptom?  Could I have acquired HSV2 simply from the french kissing?  Many thanks again... and I apologize for my anxiety driven questions.

I promised not to continue to update but I thought I would keep you updated so you will be up to speed with the current situation, and I'm also growing a good bit anxious.  The pimple that I found on my stomach is almost gone - so it was definitely a pimple.  Last night I had burning in my crotch area, in the creases of my leg and on my penis.  After sleeping, I awake and there are no issues.  I'm wondering if anxiety is driving the pain and when my mind rests, it goes away.  As this day has started, I'm starting the feel the symptoms again.

I have inspected my penis as close as I can.  I do not see any lesions, open sores, etc, but I have seen some small white colored bumps midway up the shaft, and they are not really above the skin.  There is no redness around them and they do not itch, just kind of uncomfortable overall.  I also have them on the bottom part of my shaft but they are hair follicles.  The bumps midway up the shaft are white - kind of close together, but I wouldn't call them a tight cluster.  They appear to be somewhat similar to the hair follicles on the bottom of my shaft.  They just seem out of place that high up.

1) If they are herpes, would they be painful to touch?  How pronounced would they be?  Is there anything in particular that would tip me off to definitely say that they are genital herpes?

Thanks again Dr.!

Hi Dr. HHH,
I am really trying to put this to rest but I need some guidance from you in doing so.  I've hated to post so many back to back questions in our conversation - I apologize - so many odd symptoms in my groin area is driving me crazy.  This is the last thing I can think of - I've mentioned that the crease on my right leg is red and irritated.  It's mainly the line connecting my groin to my leg.  I see no lesions or sores, but it's just red and irritated for the past 24 hours or so.  Can this be attributed to a recent acquisition of herpes from my encounter?

I really appreciate your response - I'd like to put this behind me asap (if you see that it's safe to) so that I can get back to a normal frame of mind and enjoy my wife and family.

I answer the questions about herpes on this board.  What you describe sounds like a classic little pimple.  When pressured, herpes lesions do not pop with white stringy material.  The white bumps on the shaft of your penis are likely hair follicles, even if no hair is coming out of them.  Most men have those.

One does not acquire HSV 2 from french kissing.

The redness in the crease of the leg may well be a mild fungal issue - very common in men and nothing to worry about in terms of sexually transmitted infections.

We have 48 hours to answer questions here and you've posted several in the past two days, well beyond the number allowed.  I will be closing this discussion now.
