[Question #11145] Herpes or Other STD

Hello-
I gave unprotected oral to an uncircumcised penis around 10 days ago. He did not finish in my mouth but some semen might have been in there and possibly precum. Around 2-3 days ago I developed a sore throat and then today under my bottom lip and bottom gum I noticed little sores that are tingling and itching. There is no pain, but they are definitely there.
What is the risk of HSV 1 and 2? Is it possible that it could be either since it’s inside my mouth and not on actual lip?
Is it possible that it is syphilis?
What is the proper window period for testing if I had a full panel done 11 days since the original exposure?
Thank you.

Have you ever in your life had a cold sore on your lip or in your nose? If yes, then you already have oral herpes.
There is certainly some risk here, although it is low. If the man you gave oral sex to had HSV 2 genitally, you could have acquired it orally though HSV 2 doesn't like the genital area. Did you have a clinician look at it or swab test it?
If they are still there, a clinician should swab test it for HSV.
As for syphilis, you should have a syphilis test at about 3 weeks out, just to be sure. A herpes test could be done at about 6 weeks out for clarity.
Have you ever had an HSV antibody test done?
