[Question #11180] Lesbian transmission

Hello
I am 58 F, positive for hsv2 for 15+ years. My newish partner is not positive. In reading internet I see that it is possible for me to pass to her by fingering even if I don’t have whitlow. Is that true? What are the transmission rates for women - on valtrex, no oral, no sharing of toys, no genital to genital contact. Thank you

That is not true, no, fingering is not a method of transmission. Without genital to genital contact and no oral sex and no sharing of toys, your HSV 2 is not a transmission risk. I am assuming your HSV 2 is genital?

Yes, hsv2 genital. Thank you very much for your response. Is it true that you could show symptoms beyond 28 days for first outbreak? My only anxiety now is about 8 weeks ago I may have touched myself and then her …but even that not sure.
Anxiety is real and goodness knows I appreciate you for taking the time to answer and having this forum,

Well, you could show symptoms years after a first outbreak, but if someone were going to have symptoms, it would show up 2-10 days after the encounter. In your situation, I think there isn't any real risk of transmission at all, however.
