[Question #11225] Hsv 1 or Hsv2

Hello, i had asked a little over a month ago. Ive had a few concerns since then. The rash around my anus that i was concerned about in my last post which was just redness was looked at by a doctor at planned parenthood and my primary care doctor. Both said it did not look like herpes. Now i went on and forgot about it. But since then for about 2 days i had redness with what appeared to be cut/tears which i attributed to friction as i had masturbated without lubrication and maybe my foreskin tore. I didnt have an outbreak or anything within the 2 weeks after the possible exposure. But around 2 weeks ago i had what seemed like folliculitis on the base of my penis, i had inflamation around a single hair follicule. so my girlfriend plucked out the hair. A little bit of puss came out followed by yellowish fluid and then blood. I took a 6 weeks igg test for both and both came back negative. Now right at about 9 weeks post exposure i have a red bump on my lower lip on the border line. Its been about 2.5 days since it came out. It hasnt changed since it came out i dont see a blister on it or anything just red dot. I dont feel any tingles or itching nor pain. But it also doesnt look like a pimple.
Could this be HSV 1 or 2?
Would a 10 week test be good enough or should i wait the 12?
Does the bump on the base of my penis or lower lip sound like any type of hsv?
Thank you in advance.

A few more things to add. The bump the seemed to be folliculitis in my pubic area did hurt a little when touched and did go down the next day and crusted over after the pus the yellowish fluid and the blood when we took the hair out. The cuts on my penis that only lasted 2 days did hurt as well but i think it was friction tears. Both only hurt when touched.

I am worried that maybe i gave myself herpes from my genital area to my mouth by accident because of that red bump on my lip.

My possible exposure was with a CSW, she put the condom on with her mouth so i dont know if maybe some saliva touched my penis. Protected oral and protected vaginal intercourse. I didnt notice any cold sores on her. This was February 12th.

Its been, 3 or 4 days with this red bum on my lip, its completely painless even to the touch and has not changed since it showed up. Could it still be a cold sore?

None of this sounds herpetic to me.  While it would be conceptually possible to acquire HSV 1 from her mouth, I think it is unlikely that much saliva actually touched your penis.
Also, if you had acquired a cold sore on your lip a a new infection, the presentation your describe does not sound at all consistent with herpes.  Herpes would first cause redness, then hours or a day later would be a group of water blisters that would then break open, ulcerate and then form a scab, all of which would take 1-2 weeks.  It would not last a very short time as you have described here.
And 10 weeks is as good as IGG takes.  The western blot requires that you wait 12 weeks, as it looks for all 16 antibody proteins while the IgG looks for only one

Hello and thank you for your reply. I actually still have the bump on my lip however it doesnt hurt even when i press on it. Ive been paying close attention to it and from what i see it hasnt really gone through the stages that are commonly seen with cold sores. It has some peeling skin but i am sure thats because of the benzoyl peroxide cream. Its right on the border lip line. Its been 4 or 5 days since it showed up. I didnt feel any tingling, pain or itchiness really. Theres no redness anymore it looks more purple than anything now. It didnt blister or scab yet. I am worried that it might be herpetic, but i cant get it swabbed because there is no fluid to swab, it never had any fluid inside of it. The bump is just there and the timing of it has me freaking out. Would it be possible to pass it on from my genital to oral. Its been almost 10 weeks since the possible exposure. Never had any real sores on my genitals besides what i mentioned above.
How confident can i be with the igg at 10 weeks?
How likely is it that the lip bump thats been there 5 days is herpes?
How likely is it to pass it on from genitals to oral within the 9 weeks?

I think the bump is very unlikely to be HSV.  Passing on HSV 1 from the genitals to the mouth would be a very remote possibility.  The Igg picks up 92% of HSV 2 and 70% of HSV 1, compared to the western blot.  We are way beyond the usual number of posts here, I'm closing this thread now.
