Hi Drs I’m scared I have messed up and went to a massage parlour for a massage and hand job the masseur spat directly onto my penis with lube already on it and I wanted to know what are the odds of stds from this she also gave me a peck on the lips. No visible sores I remember seeing.
There is so much conflicting data in regards to this situation online. My main concern is syphilis is this possible in this scenario ? I have no symptoms 6 days post exposure I just do not want to spread this to my regular sexual partners

Welcome to our Forum. Thanks for your question.  I'll be glad to comment.

Neither receipt of masturbation, contact with saliva, or masturbation lubricated by saliva place you at risk for any STI, including both syphilis and HIV. Direct contact is required for transmission to occur.  In addition, saliva actually contains substances which inhibit the growth and transmission of bacteria and viruses.  Similarly, kissing is a no risk event with respect to most STIs.   Overall, the encounter you describe was no risk.  There is no medical or scientific reason for testing.  There is no reason related to the encounter you describe to abstain from unprotected sex with your regular partner.

FYI, the internet is not your friend here.  Much of what is there is misleading and it is hard to tell what is true and what is not.  All too often things are exaggerated, taken out of context, out of date or just plain wrong (the internet is full of urban myths about HIV and STI risk).

I hope that this reassurance is helpful.  EWH

Okay perfect. So there is no risk of the masseur having a syphilis sore in her mouth when spitting and speaking it to by penis with her single spit she did?
Is there a likelihood at all or can I be assured with certainty ?

Nothing on earth is certain. You could be struck by a meteorite falling from sky while reading this. On the other hand, it is virtually certain this will not happen. Similarly there is virtually no risk from the exposure you described. EWH---

Okay perfect, I respect and trust your expert advice and appreciate your information on the subject 1 more question before closing out this question.
Can you explain the difference in why saliva is different to “oral sex” exposure ?

Final answer. There are subtle differences between the direct contact involved in. oral sex and simple exposure to saliva. Please remember that amongst penetrative sexual encounters, oral sex is the least efficient mechanism for transmission.

This will need to be the end of this thread. I hope the information I have provided has been helpful. Please don’t worry. EWH.
