[Question #11248] Follow Up Again

Hi Drs,
I am following up again as my original account was locked for some reason. Dr Handsfield originally addressed my concerns, but will start again for a full understanding.
I’m a male that saw a female CSW. Received unprotected oral and had protected insertive sex. Five days after exposure I started having burning while urinating and ejaculating. Had a 10 panel test at seven days. All negative. Burning issues continued and even saw a little blood at the tip. I was prescribed Doxycycline and now on my final day seven of the prescription. Still some burning, but a new symptom popped up. I have three pimple like spots on the head of my penis. This happened around two weeks after exposure and have been present for three days. One right at the urethra opening and two near the ridge area. Could this be syphilis or herpes? I have sensitive skin, but never experienced this before. I appreciate your expert advice. Thank you!

Welcome back to the forum, but I'm sorry you found it necessary. I was able to find your previous question. I'm not sure about your previous account being locked; threads are closed automatically after two follow-up comments and replies, or after 4 weeks, whichever comes first.
There is nothing in either the exposure described or the symptoms you mention, either last time or now, that suggests you have any STD from that event. Your symptoms certainly don't fit with any STD including herpes and syphilis, and as we discussed lat time, you had an entirely safe exposure.
Are you taking doxycycline on your own? Or did you see a doctor who prescribed it? If so, what was her diagnosis or the reason for the antibiotic? Perhaps I'll have more to say depending on the rationale or suspected diagnosis.

Hi Dr,
Thank you for the quick response. I’m not really trying to be too anxious. I did see a Dr. via telehealth and explained my symptoms. My reasoning being more about the continued pain after a couple days, less than the STD concern. She prescribed it for the urethritis. I don’t think I had any discharge. But I did have some strange crusting around the opening of my urethra that had a slight discoloration and was sticking closed until urination. So maybe the Doxy was overkill. Still have burning, and some general pain around my penis, but a little less painful. My real reason for coming back was the three pimple like bumps on my penis head. They have been present for three days. The pimples are a new thing for me, and not trying to be overly dramatic. Just seems like new issues keep cropping up snd wanted to check back. I realize it is too soon to get any reliable test for herpes and syphilis. My gut tells me that it is fine, but wanted to consult you before fully relaxing about it. If all of this is just some unknown issue causing urethritis issues, should I just let it go in regards to sexual activity and assume the symptoms will clear up eventually?

You describe no ongoing symptoms that suggest urethritis -- and if somehow you had acquired a urethral infection all those months ago, by now it would have been cleared up by the immune system. "Pimple like bumps" could be herpes if they appear, dry up, and then are gone over a 2 weeks or so. Any ongoing, unchanging bumps cannot be herpes. Or syphilis. I am confident your symptoms have nothing at all to do with the sexual event you have described.---

That makes sense. The exposure was 15 days ago, not months ago if that matters. Thank you so much for the advice!
