Hi. Im really sorry coming back here and i really wish you answer me.
- i never did intercourse with them fear of std so i only do fingering and handjobs.
- i have fingered too many womens deep inside the vagina until they climax. As from the information i got here, mutual masterbuation is safe sex. Some of the occasions i had cut my nails really short to the point the red skin is out and i injuried the skin and some blood came out and after 1 hour i went to CSW and fingered her and the next morning the small injury still blood comes out when i put pressure.
- i have many hangnails and my promixal nail fold is not in good condition. Even around the side of nails when i pull down the skin i can see under my nails.
1) what is the risk of HIV and STD from multiple fingering so deep inside until they climax?
- my fingers are not in good condition, dry skin, hangnails and really small injury after cutting my nails.
- i have done alot of fingering deep with hangnails and dry skin and not that good skin around my fingers.
2) what type of injury in the fingers that will allow hiv or stds to enter and transmit.
3) why is fingering considered as safe sex even with small cuts with little blood, abrasions and hangnails and not good skin conditions around the fingers.
I hope you clarify this and answer me.

I'm sorry you felt the need to return. And please be patient:  the moderators are not available 24/7 and questions are answered within 24 hours.

You describe another entirely safe sexual exposure. STIs are not transmitted by fingering or by hand-genital contact. With rare exceptions, there is no risk without intercourse, i.e. penile penetration into a partner's vagina, rectum or mouth. To your specific questions:

1) Hangnails, other minor wounds of the fingers, or "dry skin" make no difference:  still no risk.

2) If you had a fresh (within minutes), deep, still bleeding wound -- like a deep knife injury -- there might be risk of HIV or maybe other STDs.

3) Since there are no known cases of transmission by such contact, the biological reasons really don't matter. But basically it's because it takes more than minor exposure; LOTS of HIV (or other STI bacteria or viruses must have contact with certain kinds of cells. When a male with HIV ejaculates into the vagina of a woman, her chance of catching HIV is only one in a thousand. That's why many spouses of HIV infected persons never catch it themselves -- which maybe you didn't know.

I hope these replies settle your fears. Please do not seek HIV or STD testing on account of these events. Let me know if anything isn't clear.

Thanks for replying to me Doctor.
1. You said with Rare exception: what do you mean by that?
2. You said a lot of viruses and bacteria need to go in, i had a minor cut under my nails and fingered her deep for a really long time, does that matter?
3. They need to contact with certain cells, are these cells available in fingers?
4. You said 1:1000: how come some people catch it from one sex only?
5. Doctor, i have fingered many women’s deeply with small injuries in fingers, so i dont need any testing for all those fingering.

1. For example, transmission to a baby during vaginal delivery, if the mom is infected.
2. No this doesn't matter.
3. Such cells are deep inside the body, not near the surface of the skin.
4. There's no special reason. It would just be very bad luck to be infected by only one sexual exposure.
5. No you do not need testing for HIV or any other STD, not until and unless you start having unprotected intercourse.

You're just not at risk. Believe it and move on.

That concludes this thread. Please note the forum does not permit repeated questions on the same topic or exposure. This being your second about exposures that everybody knows carry no risk of HIV, it will have to be your last one; future questions about HIV risk from exposures other than sexual intercourse may receive no reply and the posting fee will not be refunded. This policy is based on compassion, not criticism, and is intended to reduce temptations to keep paying for questions with obvious answers. In addition, experience shows that continued answers tend to prolong users' anxieties rather than reducing them. Finally, such questions have little educational value for other users, one of the forum's main purposes. Thanks for your understanding.
