[Question #11332] HIV from deep kissing
|
I was dating a girl that I met on a dating app and in our second date two weeks ago we deep kissed twice once at the restaurant and once in the car. No sex. I don’t have any information about her HIV status and I didn’t see any bleeding in her mouth. I don’t have wounds in my mouth but I have an empty tooth that was broken by itself last year. Can I catch HIV in this situation?

Welcome to our forum. Thank you for your questions. We appreciate your confidence in our service. I’ll be glad to comment and hope that my comments will relieve any concerns that you might have.
Kissing in the manner you describe is a no risk of event. IV is not transmitted through kissing. This is true, even if persons with untreated HIV have open sores in their mouth or dental disease, still no risk whatsoever. Given your description of the encounter you describe I see no reason at all for concern and no reason for testing.
---I hope this information is helpful to you. Please don’t worry. EWH.

Thank you for your reply. Just to clarify by deep kissing I meant make out - like kissing each other in the lips. Still the same answer applies? Thank you.

I understand. No change in my assessment. No need for concern, no scientific need for testing. EWH---
