[Question #11381] A stupid question but a valid concern

I went for a cheap body massage recently and it was a perfectly innocent massage but the fact is the masseuse asked me if I wanted anything extra which I refused. But I’ve bumps on my thighs that you get when you’re freshly shaved and new hair breaks out. I had a vigorous massage to remove the knots in my thighs.
I started worrying that what if my broken skin on my thighs aka the red bumps of new hair could be the broken skin necessary to transmit STI/STD.
I’m fully clean and I play very very safe in my life so this just stresses me out :(
Please let me know if I need to have any medicines or anything or consult a doctor.

Welcome to our Forum and thanks for your questions. I’ll be glad to comment. Please don’t worry. Even with small nicks and folliculitis, there is no risk of having acquired any STI. I would have no concerns whatsoever and see no need for testing of any sort. I would move forward without any concern. EWH---

What I was worried the most is HIV to be honest as the rest is all manageable and the masseuse if she offered other men these services then the centre certainly ain’t legitimate. I just feel so tricked and worried since I thought it was a legitimate establishment.
So according to you I don’t need to worry about this I can put this behind me and just move on with my life with 0 assumptions of danger

Correct, there is no reason for concern regarding HIV or any other STI from the activities you have described. EWH---

I’m suddenly sick with a chest cough 1.5 day after the ordeal and I’m just wondering if I need PEP or something since I’m still in the time frame of effectiveness.
So sorry for being so ridiculous Ik that being a doctor pacifying these kind of concerns might be insulting.

We provide up to three responses to each client’s questions. This will be the final response.
I repeat, the activities you have described were no risk for HIV or other STI. Your cough is coincidental and is is unrelated to your massage. I would refuse to prescribe PEP for you.
Please don’t worry. This completes this thread. EWH
